Decent

A very simple game, but it's quite fun to play it for a while. It's a nice game to play it while you have a short break, but nothing that you could play for hours and hours.

The controls are a bit unresponsive at first. It gets better once the mouse is drugged up a bit and moves slower, but in the beginning the controls are not that good.

Also the flashing lights where a bit distractive. Sure, the mouse is drugged up, so it should have an effect on the game, but I never was a fan of flashing screens. ^^
Maybe you could simply blurr the background image, or change the colours around in it, I think that would already do the trick.

There a very few games like that one :p

You are right -.- it was a weak point

Haha but they where funny :P

Thanks for reviewing!!!

Gets too repetitive too fast

The basics are there. The game mechanics seem to work fine, but the gameplay gets very very repetitive really fast. The only thing I can do in a battle to damage an enemy is a simple attack. The animation gets old really quickly. Also it doesn't involve too much strategy to only press that one button. Some magic elements would be a nice thing here, you could then create monsters that are immune to certain magic attacks and vulnurable to others.

You should also add a mute butto nas the music also gets repetitive very fast.

Also there seem to be some bugs in the game. When you switch monsters the stats change, but not the image. Then the "experience needed" stat seems to be off for the second monster.
Also when you just leveled up, the "experience needed" stat also displays the wrong number.

Overall the game has a lot of potential, but right now it gets too repetitive too fast.

oks thanks a lot for the review... i am accepting ideas for the second part

Straightforward, yet fun to play

The controls are very easy and they work really well. Of course the game isn't overly complex, but it's still quite funny to play.

I could follow the storyline even though I haven't played the other parts yet, but I guess I will catch up on part 1 and 2 soon.

Maybe the text could be a bit bigger as it was a bit hard to read at times, but that's about the only negative point I have for this game.

Simple but solid

When I was a kid there was a TV show where you could play minigames and win lots of money. One of the minigames looked pretty much like this (I'm not saying you copied the idea, just stating similarities here).

The gameplay is very simple, but it makes for a very solid game, that entertains you while you are playing it. The graphics are all pretty good and I liked the little animations in the game (for example that Joe falls out of the mining card when hitting and object). Those small details are what makes the difference between a simple and boring and a simple and funny game. Yours definitely is one of the latter.

The song was funny for a few moments but got boring quickly, so it's nice that you put in an option to mute the music.

Yeah the animations are great. Thanks for them goes to my buddy Ani-x aka Seoul Snake aka Mos Stef. Joe crashing into a barricade and Joe getting flattened by the train are my two favorite animations :).
Thanks for the review.

Simple but enjoyable

This game never gets old, I guess.

While the graphics here aren't the best the game mechanics work pretty well, except for that the ball is right in the middle of the next set of blocks if you finish one level.

A selection of different music styles would be nice, though. It gets boring really quickly to listen to the same song over and over again. Also you should try to lower the filesize of the songs a bit. This flash is nearly 4 MB big, and I think it's because of the music.
While 4 MB might get loaded up pretty quickly it puts unnecessary strain on NGs servers and thus it raises the costs to run the servers (a little example: A game is 4 MB big and it's played by 200 people. That results in 800 MB loaded from the servers.
Another game that is 3 MB big and it's played by 200 people as well. Now there's only a 1 MB difference between those games which today really isn't that much. But the second game only results in 600 MB loaded from the servers, which is 200 MB less than the first game).

Anyway, this is a simple but enjoyable game and I liked playing it.

Thanks for the review man. To put any sort of music in at all, even at low quality, raised the file size quite a lot, your right.

Funny game, but still some nasty bugs

Sometimes I type in all the ledders needed to push the beast off the cliff and they appear greyed out, but he just won't fall. Instead he regains his balance and starts charging at me again.
Also one time he fell off the cliff, but the letters where still greyed out, so I could do nothing, because I couldn't type in anything.
Then, the medal pop up doesn't really work. It just says "medal get", but there's no text at all on the pop up.

Last but not least, (not a bug, but I still found it nasty) I think typing random letters is just too hard. They are all over the keyboard so it's very hard to get them all in time. I think the words just should be longer and maybe the beast is only pushed away when you type in the last letter, or something like that. Would still be better than having to type random letters, imo.

Anyway, the game still is funny, even though it's quite short for an experienced typer (well, Skitz was too hard for me, but up until this point I hadn't any trouble at all). The music sounds funny too, but I really think there should be an option to turn it off as it got annoying really fast.

Interesting at first, but gets boring quickly

It's interesting at first, but the patterns repeat themselvs very quickly. Also the levels don't seem to get harder the further you got, but some of the later leves seem to be even easier than the previous ones.

The main problem I had with this game is the hit detection. Sometimes I died even though I didn't touch anything. There was plenty of room between me and the rockets/bullets but yet I died.

Thanks for the review, I think that the level progression could use some work, and the hit detection is a very common complaint. Thanks for the review, it's appreciated.

Nice little tool, but could be improved a bit

The generator itself works just fine and it's fun to play around with it for a bit. But the fun quickly vanishes after a few tries.

I think with a few more features it could be made a bit better. For example we should be able to add more buttons (most error messages have three buttons: "Ok", "Ignore" and "Cancle"). A few more icons would be nice as well. Don't necessarily have to be real icons you could see in real error messages, but I think a few more icons would add more possibilites to the generator.

Lastly - and I don't really know if this could be implemented - an option to save the error message as an image would be a nice thing to have. Right now if I want to save the message, I'd have to take a screenshot, but this can get annoying really quickly.

I think in AS3 it can be done, but even then I'm sure it would be pretty hard.
If I ever get Flash CS3/CS4, I'll look into it.

Nice game

A nice little game with some room for improvement. First of all it would be nice if there was more than just one song to select from. The only option I now have is to either turn the song off or on, but it would be nice if I had one or two more options beside that.
Also, some sound effects in the game would be nice. At first I didn't even realize I couldn't touch the different coloured faices. A sound effect could make things clearer.

It was also a bit frustrating when suddendly right where I was a faic appeared and hurt me. I think it would be better if all icons came in from the sides of the screen rather than randomly appearing there.
To add to that, the screen got filled pretty quickly so the game is pretty short as it gets too hard to survive longer than a few minutes. I think a slower progress of the icons appearing would be nice. Or maybe you could let the icons move off screen after a certain amount of time. But that would mean extra work for you in action scripting, I guess. ^^

Anyway, I liked that you put in three different game play modes, this gives the user something to play around with and it keeps the replay value very high. I liked the paint 'em mode best and I think it's a pretty unique idea.
The timed mode has a serious problem, though. Sometimes I only reached 0 points because no yellow faic would appear in the first 5 seconds. I think at least one faic should appear in this time span or else it's too much based on luck wether I can survive for a long time or not.
