Sounds definitely better

This one sure sounds better than the "unremastered" version. Guitars and drums aren't overamplified anymore, only the vocals are, which lets the song down a bit.

I also like the spoken intro here. That's from the movie "V for Vendetta" right?

Thanks alot for the review! Glad you liked it! Yeah I even think the vocals are a little overpowered, but I honestly cant do anything about it until I can get a better mic.
But thanks for the review! And yes that is V For Vendetta.

Sounds raw and unpolished

The intro is pretty nice. I like the riff that is played there. When the vocals set in I am tempted to turn off the song instantly. But I fought that urge back and I was rewarded with an unpolished but yet pretty cool song.
Because if I leave the overdriven guitars and drums aside then the song IS in fact a good one. Fast, uncompromising and brutal "in your face" metal. That's what I like (well, at least most of the time ^^)

I'll sure check out the remastered version of this.

Ok thanks for the review. I'll try to make it better.

Not that good, but not too bad either

I don't know what it is, but this song is quite catchy. Maybe it's the sad melody you where playing on the guitar. It just sticks in the head.

But I think the guitar needs a little tuning, it sounded pretty off here and there.

The drums didn't really fit to the tune, so a little more work should be put into the song. I had the feeling that both the guitar and the drums where playing at a different pace. I think a simpler drum beat would fit much better.

Recording quality isn't that bad

I don't think the recording quality is that bad. Sure it sounds a bit dull sometimes but overall the quality is decent.

I didn't like the intro, it was just too generic for me. Just a beat and after a few tacts some new instruments are added. Also the beat is a bit weak. Something deeper and harder would fit better, I think

But once the main melody sets in the song gets a lot better. It's a pretty catchy melody and I think I will still hum it along a bit after the song stopped playing.

In my opinioin it's too good of a song to function as a "last dance". Usually they only play the worst songs they can offer to finally get the people out. Well, this song is far away from being "the worst". ;)

Good

That's a pretty good song you have here. The intro sounds like some of the old songs from C&C (I only played the first game). It also has a very militaristic drum beat, which seems to be fitting for a C&C game.

Later on you provide us with some very nice melodies, giving us a break from the hard background beat and making the song more interesting at the same time.

I let this play in the background while surfing the web and didn't get distracted while I was reading some sites. This is a good sign since the player shouldn't be distracted while he's playing, but at the same time he needs something to listen to so that the gaming experience isn't so silent. ;)

Thanks for a good review) Sorry for late answer, my internet wasn't work...

Nice again

Hm, this really reminds me of Radiohead's album "Pablo Honey", there they have songs that sound pretty similar to this one.
I also had the feeling that this was the intro to some series, at least for the first minute or so.
But of course this song is too long for an opening song.

Anyway, it really sounds nice and I like this a lot.

RADIOHEAD? That's pretty damn flattering.
But, come on, there has to be something weak about this song.
Like the lack of vocals. haha

Another great song

A very nice rock song. Definatly one of the better ones you can hear on NG. Even Though it has a quite simple structure and not too difficult parts (at least so far I can tell ;) ) it is an amazing song that has very nice melodies and it just makes fun listening to it.

This song really proves that you don't have to create complex song structures and fast soli to record a kickass rock song. ;)

Great

Very great song. All instruments work quite well together here, nothing stands out too much, which is a good thing when playing as a "band".

The drum riffs are a bit too simple, but "simple" doesn't equal "bad". It fits quite well in the song.
I like the melody the guitar is playing, it sounds pretty nice.

Too bad that vocals are missing here. I think the song would be even better with a vocalist singing to it.

Cornilious responds:

Yeahhh. Vocals.
I'm still trying to figure out how I want the vocals to sound.
My voice is alright so I'll try out a couple things once I get a nice mic and USB adapter. Hopefully this will be soon.

Relaxing

I'm very tired right now, so this song was just the right thing for me, heh.
It is very relaxing, which is a good thing. I can close my eyes and just listen to the song without having to fear that it suddendly "screams" at me or gets uncomfortable with loud noises or fast drum beats.

Here I can just close my eyes, relax and enjoy the nice melody.
Speaking of the melody: It reminds me of warm (but not too warm) summer days, it just has the same happy feeling to it a kid (or even an adult) would feel while running over a field...

Very nice work!

you just described the weather that I was working during perfectly. :) it was rainy and kinda chill and I was just praying for a nice sunny day. :)

lol, shoulda called the song sundance. :)

and thanks for the review!

Sounds familiar

Strange, I think I heard something like this before, but it wasn't your song as I remember reviewing it... but here's no review from me, so it can't be your song I listened to.

Anyway, I think the idea to use 8-bit sfx to create the song is really nice and you did an awesome job of creating a nice beat and an even better melody.

It starts off a bit slow but gets better and better the more sounds you added.

Only the outro needs some more work. It just ends too abruptly.

Yeah it does end to adruptly. But anyways I'm glad you like it.
