Generic, but not bad

It sounds pretty generic, but maybe that's just because of the sounds you used. But the melody you created is very nice and pretty catchy. I got it stuck in my head, even though the song isn't playing anymore.

Awesome! Thanks for the review.

Nice work

Wow, this sounds beautiful. Nice use of the instruments here, they all fit together very nice and they play a great tune together.

Well, I tried hard to find something I could critizise... but I didn't find anything! Nice song!

Thanks man! Review appreciated.

Good

I like the video game tunes you put in. They fit in so nicely here that at first I thought you created those yourself. Then on second thought I was like "Huh? That was the sound from Pac Man wasn't it? Yes it was... nice."
What I'm trying to say is that I like how subtly you put those sounds in here.

I like how the song changes over the time. It keeps me interested in the song, because I really want to know how the song developes.

Great work!

Also: The score is far too low. Must've been some "zero bombers" at work there. :/

Thanks so much man, I agree.

Nice tune

Reminds me a bit of the Final Fantasy fanfare when you won a battle; you managed to catch that feeling of the FF fanfare in your own tune, which is a good thing.

Also, it loops nice which is also a good thing. If an author decides to put this in his game he just can let the tune loop three or four times and then slowly fade it out.

Only bad thing is that it is pretty short. I think a few more seconds would be pretty nice to have here.

Nice one

It's a funny song with some good lyrics. Only problem I have with this is that sometimes the lines are too long to fit into the timing (ie you have to speak pretty fast sometimes to keep the vocals in time with the music). Also, the music itself is pretty generic. Kinda sounds like Blink 182, heh.

Now don't get me wrong, the song is amazing and I like many of Blink's songs as well. ;) It's just that the song doesn't really stick in my mind because it feels like I have listened to this at least 100 times before.

CountBoogie responds:

Thanks for the criticism, I think Blink 182 is alright too.

Sounds definitely better

This one sure sounds better than the "unremastered" version. Guitars and drums aren't overamplified anymore, only the vocals are, which lets the song down a bit.

I also like the spoken intro here. That's from the movie "V for Vendetta" right?

Thanks alot for the review! Glad you liked it! Yeah I even think the vocals are a little overpowered, but I honestly cant do anything about it until I can get a better mic.
But thanks for the review! And yes that is V For Vendetta.

Sounds raw and unpolished

The intro is pretty nice. I like the riff that is played there. When the vocals set in I am tempted to turn off the song instantly. But I fought that urge back and I was rewarded with an unpolished but yet pretty cool song.
Because if I leave the overdriven guitars and drums aside then the song IS in fact a good one. Fast, uncompromising and brutal "in your face" metal. That's what I like (well, at least most of the time ^^)

I'll sure check out the remastered version of this.

Ok thanks for the review. I'll try to make it better.

Not that good, but not too bad either

I don't know what it is, but this song is quite catchy. Maybe it's the sad melody you where playing on the guitar. It just sticks in the head.

But I think the guitar needs a little tuning, it sounded pretty off here and there.

The drums didn't really fit to the tune, so a little more work should be put into the song. I had the feeling that both the guitar and the drums where playing at a different pace. I think a simpler drum beat would fit much better.

Recording quality isn't that bad

I don't think the recording quality is that bad. Sure it sounds a bit dull sometimes but overall the quality is decent.

I didn't like the intro, it was just too generic for me. Just a beat and after a few tacts some new instruments are added. Also the beat is a bit weak. Something deeper and harder would fit better, I think

But once the main melody sets in the song gets a lot better. It's a pretty catchy melody and I think I will still hum it along a bit after the song stopped playing.

In my opinioin it's too good of a song to function as a "last dance". Usually they only play the worst songs they can offer to finally get the people out. Well, this song is far away from being "the worst". ;)

Good

That's a pretty good song you have here. The intro sounds like some of the old songs from C&C (I only played the first game). It also has a very militaristic drum beat, which seems to be fitting for a C&C game.

Later on you provide us with some very nice melodies, giving us a break from the hard background beat and making the song more interesting at the same time.

I let this play in the background while surfing the web and didn't get distracted while I was reading some sites. This is a good sign since the player shouldn't be distracted while he's playing, but at the same time he needs something to listen to so that the gaming experience isn't so silent. ;)
