It's a very nice song and I think you've done a good job playing it.

Sometimes it seems as if the deeper notes are slightly off and dissonant, but maybe there's something wrong with my ears, heh.

However, I like your interpretation of the song quite a lot.

Thanks!
There might be some notes off but for the most part I did my best to make sure all the notes were spot on. thanks for the review!

I like the original from the movie where much and I think you've done a good job here.

But I think this song needs a more "monumental" sound to it. Maybe a second piano track with a little echo added to it would help here.
Also, I think the vocal line should be imitated with some instrument, too.

OMG. Im sorry i didnt reply to this. Um... lol but thanks for the review!
Yeah it is just a little bit flat.

It's a good theme song. It is much like a catchy tune. I can hear the melody in my head right now, even though I stopped the song a few minutes ago.
In my opinion, this is what a theme song has to be like. It's almost as if I can already see your character having his appearance in the flash movie while this song plays... so, I guess you have done everything right here! Good work!

This song gets stuck in my head alot too lol.

It's a very nice tune. You put a lot of variations in here, so the song doesn't get repititve, which is always a big plus. ^^

Also, you added vocals here, which too keeps the song from getting boring.

Only thing that bothers me is the rather bad cymbal/hi-hat sound. It just sounds too artificial. But I guess that's because of the program you used to create this. Good drum sounds are pretty hard to come by.

Wow, that is a very intense song. The strange rhythm makes the song very interesting.
Even though a 5/4 beat is a very odd one it sounds really nice and surprisingly "ordered" (couldn't find a better word ^^).

I can really imagine the crowds going crazy to this song on the dancefloor! :)

Too bad it gets a little bit repititve towards the end. Some different parts there would be a very nice addition (maybe a change in the beat would already do the trick).

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, there are a couple of other 5/4 submissions for the DnB time signature contest, and the beats in those songs sounded less "ordered" to put it that way. I mean, when you listen to an irregular time signature, you usually have that awkwardness which I was surprised wasn't so apparent here. Yeah, there's not a lot of variation here, and the beat stays the same. I'd love to mix it up some, but I guess this is another prime example of something that has potential but falls short of that potential due to laziness.

Thanks for the review.

It's a very nice tune. The echo effects on the piano fit in very good here (and it also fits to the title "Floating Freely", as an echo always creats a "floating" atmosphere).

The ending is all right, but I think you should let the last tune ring a tad bit longer. It feels as if it is cut off at the end right now.

It might've cut a little bit, endings are not my strong suit = /
Delay + Reeverb = ambient drifting feel :P
Thanks for the review ^^

Great theme for Corky. He can be really proud to have such an kick ass theme. :)

The song is arranged nicely and the progression during the song is really good. But the solo guitar could have been a tad bit louder. It struggles to be heard when the rhythm guitar and the drums are playing at the same time as the solo guitar, which is a pity, because the solo sounds pretty awesome.

Sonofkirk responds:

Thanks a lot Haggard, I'm glad that you listen my songs : ).

Humm ... I thought that the solo was too loud, actually. But I will remake the mix and fix this problem. Thanks for noticing it ; ).

And thanks for the good review !

The intro reminds me a bit of some older Radiohead songs, and when the vocals set in it reminds me a bit of Coldplay, heh.

Anyways, the song is arranged very nice. I especially like the changeovers from the clean to the slightly distorted guitar. On the first changeover the pick scratch fits perfectly, on the second I expected to hear that scratch again, but you surprised me with a different changeover. That's very nice and keeps the song from getting repititve very good.

The singer has a great voice and I enjoyed listening to him.
Great song!

Wow, Radiohead and Coldplay. Two bands I have not yet heard (or even dreamed would be) us compared to. Not saying that's a bad thing cause both bands are great, but it threw me off (In a good way), thanks a lot for the review!

This is a very good song. Even though some parts seem to be a little off beat (at around 0:30), it fits into the song very well.

I like the ending with that voice the most. It's a very good ending.

I would like to see you improvising a longer song, I think you could create great songs that way. :)

thank you, i just fear repetition.

It sounds nice, even though it is quite random from time to time. You should work a bit on the transitions between the single parts. Sometimes it is a bit cut off, which sounds pretty strange.

Thanks for your time :D And random is fun!!
