Hard to understand

Speakonia is a good tool if used wisely and with care. In this flash it is very hard to understand what's being said. Subtitles would help, too I guess.

Also, sometimes the images jumped around on the screen, which looks pretty noobish. Okay, it's a clock day submission, but with very little effort all images can be set on the same exact spot on every frame, thus avoiding the "jumping around".

Subtitles? If I use Speakonia again, I'll be sure to use them. And as for the jumping around, yes, it was lazy and "noobish". Ran and I had to figure out the whole Flash program, including Actionscript for buttons, in five hours, so next time it will be much better since we've had so much longer to work on our skills.

Nice parody

Well, in my country the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac"-commercial isn't shown anywhere, so I only know a few of those that I watched on youtube.

Anyway, I think this is a prett good parody. It is an interesting concept to include Sonic with his own product in here.

The voice acting is pretty nice and even though you used some filters for the voices (or at least it sounds as if you did) everything is easy to understand which is always a big plus. ^^

The graphcis could use a bit more work, though. The characters look all pretty sloppy and when Mac got shot he only had a strange looking red ball on his head. There are a few good tutorials in the flash portal that teach you how to draw realistic blood, so my advice is that you check them out. ^^

thanks, haggard. I did make a new flash with slightly better graphics, so check my user page if you want to check it out (sorry no html in responses) It's called "The Trix Fix"

Smells like teen spirit

A pretty good advertisement. Short and with a good soundtrack, so it is easy to remember. Maybe people who watch this won't remember so much what exactly you where advertising, but the most important thing for an advert is that people remember it at all. If they remember the ad, they sooner or later remember the product as well.

I also like that you wrote down what you did in the authors comments. Especially short flashes with little or no animations at all seem to have little effort put into them, so it's nice to read what you did so everyone can see how much effort you put into this flash.

Good attempt

So this is your first real flash? Yeah, I can tell you put a lot of work into it.
Of course it doesn't look as good as flashes in the top 50, but I'm really those artist too started out creating simple movies like this.

There are a lot of details here that I like. For example the eyelids. You used them in a very good way to show the feelings of the characters. It's a simple but very effective way to show how a character feels about a certain thing.

Also, the story was nice, too. It's simple yes. But at least you didn't just have a bunch of characters killing each other. Well yes, that one guy gets killed, but it's not like the whole flash only consits of mindless killing.

So, keep practicing and I'm sure that you will create much better flashes in the very near future. :)

Thanks for your review, and it took me a while to realize this is only the first episode. I think with the other ones I'm slowly getting better,

Needs more work

This is an okay attempt at a sprite movie. I liked how you mixed serveral sprites together here and none of them where Mario, Luigi, Sonic or Tails, heh.
That Skeleton was from Golden Axe, right? And well, the soldiers and that guy with the long hairs are from Metal Slug, no doubt about that.

The spirtes look good here and you made good use of them. The killings look pretty realistic, those things can look very bad if they aren't timed correctly.
When the skeleton acted dead however it didn't look as if it was lying on the floor. Instead it was standing on it's feet, back bend backwards. So a little more work here is needed.

The biggest flaw where the speech bubbles. Sometimes they wheren't even big enough to take up all the text, so the text appeared beneath the bubble.
And in the beginning there still was the "Press" command visible behind the text. Those things can easily be avoided and if you don't notice them already while creating the flash you should watch it at least once after you finished and before you upload it to correct these very visible mistakes.

Metal Slug is a WIN!

Haha, this is at least better than my clock day flashes. But the zombies could have at least walked into the bullets (why did they stop halfway through the right side anyway?), and a death animation would definitely look better as if they just disappear into nothing.

Fro responds:

Yeah, but if I did all that stuff it would defeat the purpose of clock day.

Needs more sounds

At first I thought this flash contains no sounds. It took a while for the first sound to play and when it did it was pretty quiet.
I think it would be good to include some background noises. Cars passing by on a street (even though we don't see a street, but it may be behind us ;) ), other birds chirping, etc. .

Graphics where very decent, only when the blue dot was covered in guano it didn't look that good.

Good

"Little shop of horrors" is one of the few musicals I like, the flash here shows a key scene of said musical.

The graphics are very nice, especially the plant looks quite good.

Lip syncing is a bit off at times, but it's overall very good. Too bad you submitted this on Clock Day. Because now it is hard to get this movie the attention it deserves.
