Nice

This is a very nice submission. Even though it is so short it's still nice. This proves once more that you don't need big or even many words to get a message across. ^^

Too bad the sound quality is so low, the lyrics are only very hard to understand. Yeah, I know I can just read the text to get the lyrics, but it would be nicer if I could already hear them without having to turn up the volume on my speakers.

Starts off really slow

Now, this one starts off really slow and I was wondering why everyone was giving out such high scores. Then the flash slowly speed up a bit and the punchline really caught me by surprise. It was a pretty funny punchline as well.

The easter egg is all right and it's a "nice little extra", heh.

Still I think the drawing sequences could be sped up a bit. Right now there's no reason why I should this again. I would to have sit through the long winded drawing sequences again for the (enjoyable) punchline again.

I agree, it starts very slow, but I didn't know a way to "fix" it, I thought of maybe writing some notes in the beginning, before he starts drawing... I already sped up the drawing sequences from 24fps to 44 fps :P But yeah, it's kinda slow, especially in the beginning...

Thanks! :)

Promising start

The start was very promising. A few lines coming into the screen first forming a man, then a mask and then a face... it all morphed very smoothly.
But the longer the flash played the more the quality of the morphing and drawing decreased. Don't get me wrong, even towards the end the quality was above average, it's just that it started so nicely that the end kind of feels like a let down.

I can't put my finger on it where exactly it started to decline, but I noticed that the lines didn't flow so well anymore and that you often made use of simply erasing the lines.
After watching this flash again I realized that you erase lines from the very beginning, but in the beginning it isn't so noticable as there's other stuff going on on the screen at the same time.
Towards the end there's just the face morphing without anything else happening in the background.

So, I think if you continued with the morphing lines in the background as well, this flash would be even better.

thanks man, you're exactly right, and I regret not doing more in the background. oh well, it my first flash to pass, so I'm not too bummed about it, but I plan on spending more time on the next one.

thanks for the review.

Random

There's nothing wrong with a little bit randomness from time to time. Most of the time it's quite funny, but here it didn't work, at least for me.

I just couldn't figure out what was happening and what was this dolphin doing there? And why was he cut out so badly?

Also, the audio is pretty bad. Not only the quality of sound is low, but the quality of music as well. "Dissonant" can hardly describe the tune you played on the ukulele....

Good

The first part was already my favorite part, until the point where the real videos started. It looked funny how Kim played the keyboards and the unreachable paradise is also so true. He promises it to his folk, but they cannot reach it...

The part where the boy joins the army and the mother shoots herself is also quite good and shows what propaganda can do to a person.

Graphicwise, the submission is pretty good. Maybe a bit rough here and there, but above average most of the time. The voices are quite good, even though that person who made the announcement was a bit hard to understand.

The real videos bothered me the most, they didn't really fit into the flash.
But the choice of music was again very good. Every song fit where you put it and made the scenes funnier on the one hand but on the other hand the laugh stuck in one's throat because the music makes everything so surreal... it's hard to explain, but the musical choice is really good.

Funny, but sound quality is rather low

This is a funny little piece, but it's a bit hard to undestand the punchline because of the low sound quality. Maybe you could add subtitles, this would get rid of any sound problems immediately, as everyone could simply read the subtitles for a better understanding.

The graphics are very simple, but it fits to the flash. Still, some more work for the background could add a bit more quality to the flash. A seagull flying by or some clouds or maybe even a mast. This would give the viewer something more to look at than just the characters.

Also in the beginning there's a small white line visible at the top of the screen, which really doesn't look too good there.

I don't really have a lot to say about this because I fixed everything you said to fix, but thank you for the review!

Good

A pretty good sequel and even though I haven't watched the predecessors, I think I got most of the story, which is a pretty good thing.

The fighting scenes are pretty good and the animations are well timed. This gives me the feeling I watch a real action movie and not an animation done in flash.

The voice acting is pretty good, but it's too quiet most of the time which is a real pitty. But the subtitles helped a lot to understand everything.

Good flash

Lemon Demon has some pretty nice songs, that seem just to be made to create flash animations to. This song is no expection. I like how you animated the song, showing Samuel and Rosella doing all those nasty things.

At first I thought both where moving a bit too slow, but since they are old (and the lyrics even say they where moving slow) and you timed your animations very good to the lyrics it fits pretty well here.

What I liked most was that you never used the same scene twice. Sure, they where standing in front of the mall a few times, and this "newspaper goes down, Samuel and Rosella look at each other" was there more than once. But you always changed a few things here and there, for example the headlines of the newspaper, or how they where trying to blow up the mall.
It's those tiny details that make a good flash stand out from the other good flashes on Newgrounds. :D

I also liked how you hid the caption on/off button when the mouse wasn't hovering over it. But the captions where sometimes hard to read. A small white box where the captions appear in might have been better. At least then the captions could be read more easily.

The song itself was great and funny, too bad the sound quality is a bit low. But everything can be understood just fine, so I guess you lowered the quality a bit to make the flash size a bit smaller.

Thanks. I've had a few people say something about the sound quality now. It was just compressed so it would load quickly. I'll make it better. I did try to put in some little extras for the detail oriented. Like the clock in the shop shows the actual time, and a few things you can zoom in on to read that aren't obvious at normal scale. Some things don't look the same every time you watch, either.
