17/21 on first try. Not that bad I guess.

The quiz was very nice with some unusual photographs. At first one may think: "Heh, sure I can tell an apple from a banana!" but it gets a little tricky later on.
Good thing that I eat a banana every day, so I'm not that easily tricked! ;)

I think it was the right decision to make the photos in black and white, or else it would have been too easy, especially on the first few pictures.

You should have added a mute button, though. That background song gets very annoying after a short time.

Looks like I still managed to trick you, though! I wasn't sure if it would be hard enough. :-D

Fair point on the mute button. There were only maybe 3 hours until the end of Pico Day and I just wanted to get this quick creation out into the portal. A mute button may have been worth the 7 minutes it'd take, though.

Thanks for the review!

The most basic things did work here, that's the good part. Rupees got collected when I ran over the rupee symbol, I visited houses when I walked in a house, the battle screen showed up when I ran into an enemy.

But there are many major flaws in here that you need to iron out. Like when I walked into a house the "house screen" showed up. I made my decisions and pressed "Leave". Now when I move again, that "house screen" would also show up again! Same with fights. I fought the enemy, was successful (you also need to work on the battles, as it seemd I never got hit), turned away... and the battle sceen showed up again.

As for the rupees: Well, rupees don't dissappear once I collected them, so I can get unlimited rupees by just walking over the same rupee over and over. Make them vanish once they got collected. Same with enemys. They shouldn't no longer stand around on the world map when I already defeated them.

Some minor flaws:

Link didn't have any animation. He "floated" across the world map.
The music stopped after some time. Also when selecting that mario theme from the first house, the two songs were playing both at the same time. You should stop one theme before playing an other theme. I could also let the mario theme play numerous times because of that bug.

Conclusion:
This game has a lot of potential, but the flaws make this game unplayable for me.

A very nice and innovative game. The graphics are pretty good and the music for the different levels is very fitting, too.

I like the setup of the different levels. Every level is different from the other (well at least the levels I have played ;) ) and evry level is definatly challenging.

The controls work very well and I like that you added a restart option for each level. Otherwise it would be very annoying to restart the whole flash if you got stuck.

The general look and feel of this simluation is great. Starting with the preloader everything looks like the real WinXP, good work. You also added the typical windows start sound and the user logon, I liked that.

I also liked that I can start programs with every icon that is on the desktop. I played some Windows simulators that only let me use one or two programs and just came up with an error message for the other icons.
In this simulation I can even write and save my own texts, again: good work!

There are a few bugs here and there, like that I can draw on the desktop if I open paint, or that the start button is a bit bigger (higher) than the rest of the taskbar, but overall it's a very good flash!

Right, thanks.

Very nice game, which reminds me a bit of "Loco Roco" (because of the bright and cheerful colors).

I liked how you integrated the backgrounds in the game (ie the doeos appearing in some windows, etc.).

Also, the music fit very well to the game. Nice work!

It's a very nice tower defence game with quite a new approach to the genre. No upgrades here, but instead one can fullfill different tasks to get new weapons and even buildings!

The graphics are very nice and the music sounds good, too. However, I'm glad you included a mute button in there, because it can be very annoying to listen to the same music over and over again.

I also liked the fact that you had three different maps and three different difficulties here. That's sure good for the long time motivation. But I think a "play as long as you want" mode is missing here.

Another thing that bothers me is that I don't know what a turrent (or a building) is for, until I completed the task. It would be nice to know that beforehand.

This is a very interesting experiment and I think I would enjoy it more if I were more into flash making and action scripting.

What is left now for me with only basic knowledge of flash is a quite entertaining and challengin yet highly repititve game. I don't know if a game any more complex than this one can be created without using AS, but maybe some more levels could be added. Which would be difficult without Action Script, I guess. But maybe you could create a collab of "follow the trail" games that all don't make use of AS.

Maybe you should take out the fake preloader, as there's really no need to let people wait that long until they actually can play this game.

Bezman responds:

The idea's so simple that it really doesn't merit a collab. I might make more levels like you suggest though.

Without the fake pre-loader, folk on really slow connections might notice a problem when the game starts. Also, I wanted folk to be able to settle in their seat. I guess if I had some graphical info there, maybe the preloader wouldn't have started boring you?

Anyways, glad you liked it and thanks for the review!

A very nice variation of the Tic Tac Toe-Game. The cube added a whole new perspective to the game (literally speaking ;) ).

Sometimes it's a bit hard to rotate the cube. Maybe you could add some buttons to rotate it rather than rotate it via mouse movement.

The 3 fields right next to the cube sure helped a lot with this game and it helped me winning a few games, too.

The music is nicely chosen for the game, but a mute button would be a great addition to the game. Even the best tune gets annoying after a while. ;)

CaptinChu responds:

Okay! I found out the problem with the rotations; next time I'll use a different angle system. Mute buttons are easy- I'll add one in.

Yay, I scored a B+!

The game is pretty addictive, even though it's very simple.

The graphics are kept very simple, but I liked the dancing stick figures, heh.

You've done a good job with distracting the player. Sometimes it's very hard to stay concentrated when the whole screen is flashing and loaded with different symbols.

I somehow missed a mute-button here. Okay, the music seems to be a key element of the game, but I had to turn off Janis Joplin to play this game! (I hope you know what a big sacrifice I had to make to play this game :P )

Overall, the game is highly addictivem, but needs a bit work on the graphics.

Lol, I always get 7's from the Review Request Club on all my works.
You liked the dancing stick figures, as did everyone. And I didn't put in a mute button because the background stuff matches with it, so it's an important part of the game. I'm still glad you liked it for the most part, and I'll try like hell to draw better in the future.

Nice mini game you have here. The graphics are pretty nice and the gameplay is very easy to understand (well, point and click ^^).

You should try and disable the Tab button next time as it is quite easy to get a great time with that. It took me 18 seconds... when I played legit I needed 49 seconds.

However, this game is very addictive and it's great to kill some spare time. :)

I liked that you put in the english and the german version of the song and still kept the file size at 1 MB. Most flash artist don't seem to be able to keep their file size below 3 MB with only one song...

Matt-Porter responds:

Thanks for understanding it was just a mini game, and big thanks for the review. I was a little worried about the audio quality, but not doing what I did would have bumped the file size to about 5 MB, so it was definitely worth it. Well, keep an eye out for stabika episode 3, It far surpasses the first two :)
