It's a nice little game which can be quite difficult at times. I liked the pictures you chose for your levels.

The random things in between some level are funny and they are good to loosen this flash up a bit.

The music was fitting, but an option to turn it off would have been really nice. It can be quite annoying to listen to the same tune over and over again. ;)

Thanks, you will be able to see more of the random animations when I release the stick compilation

EDIT: The stick compilation has been submitted, it had been online for about a week when I decided to delete it.

It's a very good tutorial. The text is easy to read and you explained everything very well. I also thank you for not including any music, as music in tutorials tends to get boring very quickly. ;)

I missed some kind of menu here. It would be nice if I could choose from a menu which part of the tutorial I want to see. That way I don't have to click through the whole tutorial if there's just one topic that I'm interested in.

Hmm that might just be an idea xD. Didn't think of that. Thanks.

It's an interesting game with a very original concept. I don't think I played something like this before.

At first the setup is a bit unusual, but one can get the hang of the game pretty quick. I think the view that the radar allowed me was a tad bit too small. Maybe you can give the player a bigger radar at the beginning and then decrease the radius of the circle for later levels.

The delay of the radar is a good addition and it works very well. Also the timer in some levels is a good idea, as it is an extra motivation for the player to finish the levels as fast as possible.

The graphics are quite nice, but I think they can be polished a bit here and there. Some 3D-Elements would be very nice, for example.

A very nice game. It's just perfect if you have some minutes to waste and want to play and easy and relaxing game.

I liked the fact that you can't lose in this game, you just lose points if you are hit by one of those "bad" dots. But you should have used some other movement scheme for the "enemy dots" every once in a while, as it's pretty dull if they just move in linear lines. Some dots that move in circles sure would be nice here.

Also, if the background would change every now and then (maybe after each 10 points scored), this would give the game more "eye candy".

Other than that, it's a great game. I like the gameplay a lot, the movement of the white dot is very nicely done and submitting scores is easy. Good work!

A very nice collection, I knew most of them already, though (except for those complementary colours). But I'm quite interested in optical illusions, so maybe that's why I already knew most of what you showed here.

I liked the explanations, as optical illusions are more ore less useless if you don't know what's going on and if you don't know WHY our eyes (or our brain) are tricked.

I noticed that the mute button didn't work properly. Every time I went back to the menu the music started to play again. Also on "Color Illusions" and "Cafe Wall Illusion" you chose a different music track. So the music started to play there again, even though I muted it in the main menu.

Very nice flash. When I started this I didn't knew what to expect and I prepared for the worst (like Coop I feared that every line would have a slightly different tone, thus ruining the poems completely), but instead I got the best I could wish for! :)

While the presentation is very minimalistic the narration is done really great and I liked the poems I could "create" with my choices.

But still I think the presentation needs more "eye candy". Some background images would be a good start, for example.

I also noticed that the "Turn narration On/Off" button didn't work.

Vert responds:

Hmm, are you sure that the narration button wasn't working for you? The button itself dosen't indicate when the narration is on or off, something I was incapable of doing, but it worked fine for me when I tested it just now. Do you have an older version of Flash?
In any case, thanks for the compliments and after all the feedback, I've pretty much decided on doing another poem, but with a little help so as to improve the overall presentation and level of polish. And thanks for the review!

Those kind of games can go awfully wrong, but it seems as if you've done everything right with this one. You offered a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of choices and all of them had something special, like the cloud kicking the guy off the cliff (that's my favorite scene, btw), or the guy getting killed by a guitar solo.

Sometimes the backgrounds were a bit bland. Well, a plain white background isn't that exciting, to be honest. ^^
If you added a small background for every scene it would be really nice.

The only one featuring a background was the cliff. Perhaps that made you more inclined to it?

The graphics here are awesome and the whole way the game looks like reminds me a lot of the good old fighting games of the NeoGeo (like King of Fighters, etc.).

I like that I can configure the controls, so that I can use my standard setup for those kind of games. But sadly the controls in the game leave a lot to be desired. First of all: I can't attack when I press "back + crouch" or "forward + crouch". This is kind of annoying. Also the controls seem to be very slow, so that it's hard to get some combos done.

The gameplay is quite good, but the opponent blocks way too much and way too fast! Whenever I press a button (doesn't matter if I stand near him or some yards away) he blocks. That way it's VERY hard to beat him, as he blocks quicker than I can attack. Also he seems to attack a lot faster than me. This is a great let down for a otherwise great game.

The levels are all quite challenging and the music fits in the game pretty well. But I think you should use a different pointer, as it is not quite clear now with which part of the pointer I have to avoid the obstacles.

Also, you definetly should get rid of the "right click"-cheat. I think in the NG flash forums are many solutions to this question.

Seems to be harder than the first part. I still haven't figured out how to not let enemies pass in "noob"-difficulty after 3 or 4 tries.

The new upgrade system is a good thing. First of all, it upgrades instantly. No longer waiting for ages for the tower to upgrade. Second, I can choose what I want to upgrade, which can lead to different tactics and thus to a higher replay value.

I didn't like that the flying enemies come from a different direction. All other enemies cross the screen from left to right, so why do the flying ones cross the screen from the top to the bottom? Doesn't make much sense to me.
