Nice, but repititve

The build up in the intro is done very nicely. At first I thought this was going to be another boring techno song. But you added more and more stuff, makeing the song more and more interesting while doing so.

I love the synths in the background. They create a very nice atmosphere.

However, the song gets a bit repittive after a while. Maybe it's because it is nearly 7 minutes long. It's hard to create a song with such length without getting repititve.
Maybe if you try to shorten the song a bit it would be more varied.

Thanks for your review. Yeah, a bit more practice and experience and I'll hopefully fix this repetitiveness problem that I've got.

A bit too generic

The intro is a bit too generic for me, but I like the melodies you put in the background.

I especially liked the part where you completely took out the drum beat. It has a very nice atmosphere to it. Also, the change over to the next part (again with drums) is done very well.

Generic, IMO a bit yes. I'm still fairly new to to trance and generic is the easiest for me :). I'll keep in mind to stay more origenal next time.

Anyhow, thanks you liked it.

Generic?

Yes, I think most trance songs are generic. But this luckily isn't "most trance songs"! ;)

Even though this song is over 6 minutes long it doesn't get boring, repititve or "generic". I like the various parts you put into the song and even more than that I like how you manage to change from one part to another part without disrupting the flow of the song.

Good work!

Thank you very much for the review Haggard. I really tried to make it as interesting as possible so people would listen to all 6 minutes. Thanks for listening to my song!

Good song

I know how you feel. It's sad when a string breaks. Especially when you have to replace it with a different string. My e-string broke quite some time ago and I had to replace it with a fucking b-string... :/

Well, the piano sounds very sad and when the guitar suddendly sets in it doesn't sound so fitting at first. But it gets better some seconds later.

The "double solo" (played with two guitars? Or did you use an effect board there?) sounds a bit off from time to time. I think it would be better to only play the solo with only one guitar/without the effect.

I recorded the thing twice (my string broke whilst playing it the second time as you can tell by the abruptness, hence the name), and both came out wrong, so I decided to be lazy and mixed them together :D

Thanks for the review. And yeah, it's a bitch to replace your string, specially when your guitar has a complicated system ._.;

Nice background music

This is a very nice tune to be played in the backround while doing something else. The piano sounds pretty nice and also the main melody is pretty catchy.

Only thing is that the song doesn't change that much during it's playtime.

I don't know if this fits to Runescape or not as I've never played that game. ^^

really? wow. i thought everyone has played this game at some point or another.

Mezzo piano, not forte

I like the progression of this song, it starts very calm with only a few instruments playing.

More and more is added the longer the song plays, which keeps it from getting boring.

But sometimes you played the notes on the keyboard with too much power (or 'forte'). This overpowers the other melodies and also creates static sounds in my speakers.
So, you should try to play those notes with a bit less power ('mezzo piano' ;) ).

ok. Thanks for the advice. I just thought this song would be played with a force!
Thanks for the review though!

Great song

This is great! Everything flows really well together here. The melodies, the background beats. And everything is mixed very well, too.

Even though the song is nearly 5 minutes long it doesn't get repititve or boring, not even for one single second! Amazing. :)

I just listened to this, while I was doing other things (like browsing the web) and I came to the conclusion that this can be used perfectly as background music in nearly any kind of game. It is nice to listen to, but it doesn't distract you from what you are doing.

Again: Great song!

Good groove

"Groovy!" </Earthworm Jim>
Yes, this song is amazingly groovy. I really like the rhythm of it. The deep bass and the drums play very well together and the somewhat higher pitched melodies you added here and there are the icing on the cake. They fit very well to the deep and grooving rhythm.

But some of the things you added aren't that fitting in my opinion. For example that strange noise that can be heard at 2:47 (you also used this earlier in the song). I would advice you to either change it to something else or leave it out completly. In my opinion it disrupts the great feeling of the song.

svinepels responds:

Lol, thanks! Well, maybe that noise is a little too busy. I have no plans to change it, as I feel very "finished" with this song. Thanks again for the review and the 9!

Move it!

Wow, a remix of Move it! It's one of the very few techno songs I acutally like a lot! :)

I like what you did with the original version, even though I have to say that it has lost some of it's power in your remix. But on the other hand you added quite a few interesting things to it, so that it isn't as repititve as the original.

So, overall I'd say that this is as good as the original version, just in a different way. Which also means that you've done a kick ass job with your remix! :)

Kirby is great

Kirby games are great and the songs in the games are good, too.

Your version seems to be a lot faster than the original, though. It feels too hectic in your version.
Anyway, the original "kirby charme" can also be felt in this faster version, so, good job! :)
