Good

When I read "trip-hop" I think of Portishead and Massive Attack. But of course it would be unfair to compare your song to those bands, as this is your first try in this genre.

The song is pretty nice and offers a good atmosphere that lies somewhere in between relaxed, mysterious and creepy.

The song also has a good length, just right for the "trippy" part in trip-hop. ;)

But I think there isn't enough happening here. The build up of the parts sure is nice, but some more melodies that stand out more would be a nice thing.

LightKeeper responds:

That was one thing I was trying to experiment with. Most of the trip-hop I listened to before was just more atmospheric, the melodies didn't really stand out and sometimes there weren't melodies. But I see what you're saying. Guess I'll just have to keep working on it. :)

Thanks for the review.

Woha

This song doesn't take any prisoners, it straight away shoots them on sight.

What I mean by this is that the song is very hard and intense and we can hear this for the very first second on. I really like that intro. Weird noises, screams and *boom*, the song starts.

The melodies are very good and they get stuck in the head.
Even though I have to agree with ChairYeoman to an extend that the song is a little bit out of tune sometimes, I really like this "out of tuneness". It gives the song that little extra that makes it different from the other songs in the audio portal.

The outro is good as well. We can hear a gun being loaded, a shot and a grunt. End.
Nice. :)

Glad you like the ending.

Thanks guys for Reviewing my songs!

Nothing too special

This sounds nice. Nothing more, but nothing less. The beginning is a bit slow, but luckily it picks up after that.
The melody is a bit strange, but fits very well together with the strange computer voices.

A very experimental song, but a clear structure is missing here in my opinion.

Scrototype responds:

I'm glad you see it the way I see it. I want it to be strange and if I knew how to play piano I'd write better melodies if I knew more about FL studio I'd make better beats. So hopefully, I'll make much better music in the future. Thanks for the review!

Welcome...

...to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

Yeah, I really expect the band at that restaurant to play something like this. I mean, it's a great event which you don't experience everyday, right? (unless of course you work there...)
Also, people shouldn't be too unhappy about the end, maybe the things that follow after us are much better. :)

Conculsion: This is a very nice song with a pretty happy atmosphere and some very nice melodies. Good Work!

Isn't that a book? I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about.. oh well, thanks for review!

Good

This song offers some very good melodies and some great background beats.

I also like that this song is so diversified, it never gets boring even after the 4th time I've listened to this.

I really can't think of anything you could do better. :)

geeh thanks man. "I really can't think of anything you could do better. :)" Thats the nicest thing anyone has said to me, in a review. :D Peace, thanks for teh ruvew

Good

Starts off real slow and not too interesting, to be honest. But after 30 seconds where the "real" song starts it gets a lot better. The atmosphere you create with the instruments in the second part of the song is very good. Relaxing and a little bit mysterious.

I also like the main melody, it's very catchy and I could listen to this for quite a long time I guess.
Speaking of "a long time": Too bad the song is so short!

SessileNomad responds:

short and sweet, thats how it goes..

i think 30 seconds is an ok intro b4 it really kicks in

lol thanks for the review dude

First part sounds too repitive

I think the first part of this song is too repititive. It got better after the vocal sample during the middle, where you added some more sounds to it.

Of course the ending isn't really satisfying right now, but seeing as this is only a demo right now I guess you have something much better planned for the full version. ;)

Overall the song is a bit too repititive right now, but it does sound very promising.

Oi, didn't see this review 'til now, sorry for the late reply!

Oh hell yeah, something big's in the planning. More variation in the beginning and some sick melodic work after the vocal sample part (which will obviously be removed)

Thanks for the review! :-)

Good drum sounds

Did you use a real drum set here? Most drum sounds you can hear in the audio portal sound pretty awful, especially the cymbal. Here the drums sound very realistic, so that's why I'm asking.

The other instruments sound pretty good as well. especially the guitar. You found just the right amount of distortion here.

What this song needs is some kind of vocals as it gets a bit repititve after a short while, vocals could really help and I think they would also fit nicely to the song.

Sawdust responds:

Nah man, I just used drum samples and I just EQed it to give it a sort of muddy feel.

And I can't add any vocals, as I am a terrible poet and singer, so sorry.

My heart is beating like a jungle drum...

Why do I always have to think of that song when reading the word "jungle" somewhere?

Anyway, this is a very nice song. The driving instrument here are the drums, which of course fits nicely with the jungle theme. The good thing about those "drum songs" is that they tend to never get boring no matter how long they are. Your song is no exception from this rule.

Wow, thanks XD. I'm really glad you liked it :D.

Interesting

This is a very interesting and unique concept. I never knew Windows sounds could sound so good. :)

It must have been quite hard to mix the sounds so they fit well to the durms (or did you program the drums afterwards?). Anyway, this isn't only interesting it also sounds pretty good! :)

Step responds:

Lol, neither did I :P. I took care of the drums afterwards, but it was a bit of a pain since windows sounds are naturally not loud enough for music producing and the drums kept overpowering it. Obviously mastering could've fixed that much better than I did, but I dunno how to master :'(. Thanks for the 9 :).
