Great

That keyboard intro sounded a bit weird, but once the other instruments set in it got better.

The drums are a bit too generic, though. But since it is a cover version I think there isn't much you could do about it if your goal is to stay close to the original.

I also just listened to the original (even though I don't like CoF very much ^^) and I must say you've done a very good job with your cover. Too bad you don't have the vocals in the song, though.

Good, but could be better

Out of the three songs I reviewed today I like this one the least. Now don't get me wrong, it is still a good and unique song, but I'm missing this little extra that made the other two songs so special.

The melodies aren't as catchy and especially that one melody that goes up and down in pitch all the time is a wee bit annoying after some time.

Great again

I gave you a lot of praise for the last track I reviewed ("Turn It Up"), and I can't even praise you enough for this one. Again, you leave all the "standards" behind you and you create a unique and awesome song. The meldodies are very catchy and it does have indeed a caribbean feel to it, even though I can't put my finger on where exactly it reminds me of pirates, heh.

Anway, another great song, too bad it's so shorth though. :P

Interesting

It's so good to hear a house song that doesn't use that overused and annoying clapping sound in the intro. It's like 99% of newgrounds house and techno artist use that. So, it's very refreshening to hear a song without it.
Also, the main beat is far away from that boring "stamping" you can hear in so many songs.

You may have already noticed, but I'm not too keen of techno/house/trance. But your song is so completly different that I really like it. It is very varied and has interesting beats and effects to offer. It doesn't get boring one single second even though it's over 5 minutes long.

Only that little pause in the intro sounds a bit weird, maybe you can shorten it a bit or leave it out completly.

Nothing to tear apart here

Yeah, I would like to tear this apart, problem is to do that there has to be something wrong with the song. But there isn't. :P

Only the slight dissonances (most noticable at 0:24) disturb the song a bit. Get rid of them and you have again an awesome song. The slow build up is very nice, I like it much better as if the song starts right away with the action.

But it's again a pity that it is so short. Make longer songs! :P

Thanks for the review!

I'm not sure I hear the dissonance at twenty four seconds, I know the harp has some inentional minor feel.

I'm definitely working on length.

Nice

Very nice and relaxing song. The melodies are very catchy and it doesn't get too boring even though the song is over 5 minutes long.

Somehow I expected something completly different when the song started. In the intro the song has a pretty creepy atmosphere, but after about 30 seconds a very light sounding melody comes in. Here's where I first realised that this song isn't going to be creepy at all, but instead very nice to listen to. :)

But a song CAN be creepy and nice to listen to at the same time, right? Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

Strange...

I really don't know what to think of this song. First of all, I really like the original, and I also like it becaue of the strange accent the singer has. It sounds funny and it fits to the song.

Now, of course you don't have that accent and it sounds a bit strange at first. Also because it is so slow, if I recall correctly the original is a bit faster in the intro.

But the song gets better towards the middle, when the guitar stops playing the palm mutes and the drums pick up a bit, too.

The vocals need a bit more work. In my opinion you shouldn't switch between pitches so much. Either scream or growl but do not try to switch between both. It's very hard to do and if it isn't done right it sounds very weird like here.

Good but too short

This is a pretty good track, I especially like the piano, it plays a very cathy tune.

The strings are good, too, but I think it would work better if the piano and the strings would play the melody together.

Also, this track needs to be lengthened. It's a pity it's so short, not even 40 seconds long. :/

Thanks for the review.

Instrumentation is something i'm still experimenting with, and they get longer every time I write a new piece, so we'll see where it goes.

Good

A very good range of voices here, great emotions in them too (especially towards the end).

However, sometimes there are a few little static sounds, which are a bit annoying. But most of the time the sound quality is very good.

Nice demo.

You actually heard the little static sounds? xD You must've had some pimping headphones my friend, or at least headphones that weren't from the dollar store.

Thank you for pointing out that they are indeed audible. Thankfully I have a new mic now which generates close to no feedback on my mac. :)

Thanks a bunch!

Starts promising

When the intro started I thought "sounds promising", the beat you offer here is definitely good and the effects on it make it sound more interesting.

Too bad that the rest of the song can't keep what the intro promises. There's not enough variation in the song. The main beat stays the same nearly the whole song through, it's only interrupted a few times.

The melodies sound great, but it seems as if they try to hide behind the main beat. In my opinion the melodies should be much more in the foreground.

Thanks for the review. :D

I thought this track had enough melodic variation as it is, haha. I do agree that the rhythm is very repetitive though. I tried changing that, but no success. :(
