Nice and relaxing

Yes, the tune does sound a little like whale songs. Not the melody, though. But just the sound of the tune has this whale-like touch to it.

The melody of whale songs are quite different (well, at least the ones I heard), but I don't think your goal was to imitate whale songs.

Anyway, enough talk about whales. The tune is pretty nice. I like the echo effect you used here. It is very fitting, especially on the drums. It creates an atmosphere of a very big room where we are standing, which somehow reminds me of the ocean.

I also like the build up of the song. You start out with just a few instruments and then slowly add more to the song, until it is "really" playing.
The outro is done in a similar way. You slowly take away instruments until the song ends. This also sounds nice and makes this song even more relaxing.

Hey :D You liked it! I was unsure of whether you would like it or not because it is very... like not the normal sorta thing anyone would here, and its a bit slow. Anyway, glad you liked it :D

Good

Never played fable, so I don't recognize this melody. ^^ But it sounds nice anyway. Not too sure if this reminds me of a "rebirth", but yeah, it has some sort of "a new beginning" feeling to it. As if something new is created, which is what a rebirth is about, right? ^^

Also, the loop is done very well. It is not noticable when the loop starts again, which is a hughe plus, since this is labled as a "loop".

Mmm, everybody has different views on where in the game this song originally came from. I'm leaning towards it being in multiple places, thus the reason I agree with all accounts. I stated rebirth because, frankly, I couldn't think of anything and since it was a remix I thought that rebirth somewhat fit that bill. What can I say.

But seriously, I wasn't really trying to loop this piece. Since this was created before the audio portal redesign it was then stuck on here as a loop and I was unable to change it. Mmm.

Ah well, not that big of a deal. Thanks for the review though guy. Sorry about making you wait so long for an answer, I've been strangely busy these last couple weeks.

Good melodies

I like the intro with that "big strong black man" voice, but sadly the rest of the song sounds a little bit too generic. At least for me. Maybe this is because I'm not really a fan of dance music, so I miss all the nuances this genre has to offer.

Anyway, the melodies are pretty nice and quite catchy. Too bad the background beat sounds a little bit overpowered so the melodies are nearly drowned by the bass.

SessileNomad responds:

yeah i made this track when i found out that a freaking shit ton of pop songs use this same chord progression, so i decided to hop on the bandwagon

i like the black mane voice too

Nice, but would sound better on a real guitar :P

Yeah, I'm not a fan of artificial sounding guitars, because in my opinion they all don't sound very much like a real guitar, but anyway this track is pretty nice. Especially the intro caught me totally off guard. I was expecting something completly different when I read the title "guitar shredding".

It's a nice build up you have until you come to the "shredding" part, which sounds pretty good even though it's not played on a real guitar. ^^

I have to agree with Coop, the drums on the fast shredding part sound a little off. I can't really put my finger on it, but something just sounds or "feels" wrong there.

SessileNomad responds:

yeah i wish i had a more real guitar synth to use, or better yet, i wish i could really shred like that xD

Nice beat

A pretty good song with a very nice very staccato-like beat. The high pitched vocals fit astonishingly well to the very deep bass, even though a little more variation would have been nice here.

The melodies that can be heard later in the song are good as well, but they are too quiet. They are overpowered by the main beat which sounds a bit strange.

Will responds:

You mean the piano? I can see how that would be drowned out, thanks for noticing that.

Good

Very nice track. Everything fits quite well here. The beat and the way you rap to the beat sounds very nice. Also, the background music sounds very fitting to the title. The melodies sound like a tribute to old karate movies, very nice.

Also the flow of words you present here is very good. Yesterday I reviewed one of your songs saying it sounded a little choppy from time to time. But here nothing is choppy, it all sounds very good and very natural. Nice work!

BAF responds:

yeah I remember thinking the same thing about the karate movies when I first heard it. I spent a lot more time on this song than "Froze to the Bone" mainly because the beat was made by people here on newgrounds and I didn't want their music to be associated with something that sucked or even just mediocre.

Good

There should be more lyrics written about true emotions. This whole "gangsta" image some rappers try to build up is so overused and pathetic that it really isn't fun to listen to most of modern rap today.

So, I really like your lyrics here. They are just true feelings and I think nearly everyone has felt like this in his life.

While your flow is quite good most of the time I have to agree with MickeyMao. Sometimes it sounds a bit choppy. So maybe you should "proof listen" your songs, or just record a very raw demo to check if the lines are really fitting to the beat or if you have to work on them a bit more.

BAF responds:

I'm glad you like the topic, rappin' about topics like this or telling stories is much more natural to me than talking about selling drugs and bitches. Funny thing about the chopiness is that since I rapped it sometimes it can be hard to detect because I expect it already because I'm the one who said it if that makes any sense, I've thought about sleeping on a track for a night before uploading it so I can take a step back and listen to it without any pre-existing bias. Maybe I ought to start. Thanks for the review man.
