Even though the flash is so damn short and has a very large file size I really liked it! Your drawings are very nice and the animations are smooth and fluent.

The ending is quite unexpected and somehow even funny.
I didn't like the music, but at least it fit well in this flash.

Now only thing you have to do is make a longer flash! :P

Yah, after double checking and watching this movie over and over, I began to not like that music much either. TY for the awesome review! I'm glad you liked it.

The moral in this song is so simple that it really hurts -.- . But ok, it's a song for children, so one can't expect really deep thoughts in this.

I don't know if old DDR-songs are that helpful getting your message through, as the DDR was neither socialistic nor democratic but a flat-out dictatorship.
So, it's kinda ironic to use such a song to get your message through.

But you chose good animations to express the lyrics and your thoughts. Help others, and you will be helped. I wish more people would think that way.

I think the west demonises DDR too much. I am not saying it was perfect and I know it was a dictatorship, but it was socialist, even though many people argue that a truly socialist country must be democratic. I think DDR wasn´t that bad. Majority of people had a decent life, except for political dissidents who tried to escape to the west, but I am not talking about them, because after the borders closed, they were only few.

All people had a job, there was a strong children support by the government, free health care, education, kindergardens and many awards each year like for example ``Held der Arbeit´´, which were given to ordinary people who helped to build socialism in East Germany, and as a token of gratitude they were given better appartments, dachas, cars, a lifelong rent, and fame.

With time passing by Germany became more and more democratic.

But the meaning of this movie is to help people!

Never expected to hear songs of Ernst Busch on Newgrounds :D .

I think you've done a good job animating the song and the animations go along very well with the lyrics. I liked that you had subtitles in german and in english and you also managed to keep the original meaning of the lyrics in the translation. However, I noticed a typo in the german lyrics during the first refrain: It's "Räuber..." not "Raüber" ;) (but don't worry, it's a very common typo).

The song is really great and the quality of the sound is good, too even though your flash is relativly small. The animations are very fluent and visualize the song in a very good way.

But I can imagine that the language barrier can hurt this movie in the long run. Even though you gave a very good translation of the lyrics, I don't think it's the same as listening to the song and understanding the lyrics without reading them.

Kenzu responds:

I thought I have removed that typo already. A friend mentioned it to me before. Maybe because it is mentioned twice throughout the movie.

One of the reasons I learn many languages is to understand all the beautiful music with original lyrics. People who have to read the subtitles miss out on the strength of impressionism of this movie.

If you like flash with East German music, I recommend you the following flash:
