The graphics in this flash look very good. I especially liked the effects of the light here (for example the candle in the letter-scene, or the lights ni the scene with the monster and Elizabeth).

Sometimes the text went by too fast. I barley couldn't finish some of the texts in the flash, which I thought was a little bit annoying.
Also, the voices are a bit too quiet, they are nearly overpowered by the music. Also, you had a lot of static sounds in the sound files. You should try to either edit them out with programms like Audacity or try to keep away farther from the mic, to reduce the statics.

I'd like to see an actual Frankenstein movie made by you, without a deadline forcing you to rush things. I think it would be an awesome movie. :)

thanks! i'm not normally too great of an artist, but i actually spent quite a lot of time on that first scene there. that was when i was under the illusion that i had a lot of time left. the lights in the scene with the monster and Elizabeth are...eh. i don't like that scene too much, both artistically and materially.

the text went by very fast at times to keep the music synced with the flash. \: i could have done a better job with the pacing, but the quotes aren't too important. it was required to have at least 5 quotes in the trailer.

the static was due to me using a bad mic - my shitty logitech webcam. my future voice-acting will have better quality because i'll be using my Rock Band mic, which has a much higher quality. no static, bumps, or anything.

to be honest, i'm not that interested in doing a full Frankenstein movie :P maybe when i have more free time, motivation, and artistic skill.

thanks for the review (:

I can defiantly see an improvement here. The graphics are better than in the previous episodes, but they still are pretty sloppy. I know that drawing with the mouse is a pain in the ass, but Flash also offers a nice rubber tool. Be sure to make good use of that as it can be used to avoid that lines are drawn longer than needed.

I liked the new preloader better than the older one. The new one is much more present on the screen and the play button is visible at first glance.

It's longer than Chapter 1, which is good. It gives us more to look at and the story slowly starts to get interesting.

The music was a bit too loud, so that the voice acting was overpowered by it. That makes it very hard to understand what you where saying once the rolling text was over.
Either lower the volume level of the music or stop it completly (I prefer the latter).

The voice acting is pretty annoying here. First of all, the introduction text is read much too slow and it gets annoying pretty fast.
The voice of the astronaut is all right, but try to keep your mouth farther away from the mic, as we can sometimes hear some breathing sounds.
Also we can hear some noises that sounds like as if you put the mic down. Try to edit those noises out of the soundfile with programs like Audacity (it's free and it's good).

Too bad this is so short. I hoped to see a bit more. It's more of a trailer than a full chapter.

The graphics are decent. A bit sloppy here and there; especially the stars look quite bad, as some of them a lines, instead of dots.

The animation is decent, too. It's mostly tweening, but you made good use of that.

I think the music doesn't really fit here. Something more "spacey" would have been better.

this is the first chapter of the Last Hour series, you are in for a great ride if you continue watching the series. !!! Don't worry the other chapters will be twice as long as this! If you notice my newest chapters. the stars have been fixed in fact i think it looks beautiful. Go ahead and review the other chapters.

It's a very nice moive. The drawings are synched very well with the music, which makes uo for a good experience.

Some parts where a bit too fast paced, so that it was hard to catch was what going on on the screen.

Also, I missed some kind of rough story line, right now it seems as if the parts are more or less thrown together randomly.

<instert youtube comment here> :P

So, now we got that out the way, on with the review.

It's a nice movie with a good script. I liked how you parodied various "ghost movies" here.

I think the ghost was very funny, especially when he fell down. I would like to see that in a movie that runs in the cinema, heh.

Also, the camera man/narrator was very good. He was good to understand (which is mandatory if you want to know what's going on ^^) and also his acting was pretty good.

Yeah, my friend is a great actor. A lot better then I am. I didn't have much to act though since I had a sheet over my face and my only lines were SON OF A BITCH and Boooooo. Thanks for the review.

The animation of the running man looked a bit odd, but it's one of the hardest things to animate a running man/woman, I think.

The graphics looked very nice and I liked the things that where going on in the background. The entrance of the Dino was done pretty good, with the screen shaking.

I started running a few weeks ago, maybe I too should imagine some things like that. ^^

OxSox responds:

Oh come on you don't have to let me off that easy, the running man was the center piece of the whole animation, if there was one thing that needed to be perfect it was him, and if I didn't accomplish that it's a serious failure on my fault. With this animation under my belt I feel much more confident that I can better draw running characters in future animations.

Dude, the key to running regularly is not to stop. Make a routine for yourself and stick with it! Right now your at the point where it's easiest to quit, don't let yourself and don't make excuses for yourself. But yeah, when your trying to incorporate speed into your work outs imagination goes a long way to motivation. Good luck running, hope to meet ya in a race some day ;)

The joke is quite old, but it was very well executed in this flash. The graphics are pretty nice and the lip syncing is done quite good, too.
I also liked that the flash delivered the punchline so quick. There's no need to create a minute long flash for a short joke.

However, the backgrounds could have used some more work. Even though the flash is quite short and we don't get to see the bg's for too long, it's still something that catches the eye.
Also, the voice of the "old" man had a very poor sound quality.

It's a very good attempt to put the newgrounds history into a flash. The narrator is easy to understand (even though he sounds a bit bored here and there, he) and the slideshow is done quite well.

However, I think you left out some very important parts like the redisign in 2007, or the ClockCrew (yes, they play an important role in NG history, IMO).
Also, it would have been better if you had used more "old" screenshots. For example, if you are talking about 2005 and you show a screenshot from todays newgrounds... it's a bit weird.

Insanimation responds:

Thanks for the review.
Well, the main reason a lot of stuff was left out of this was mainly because I was working from the History Page in Newgrounds, and that hasn't been changed since 2006 (it really needs to be)..And about the screenshots: the simplest answer is that I couldn't find any that worked for the topic that was being discussed in that year...any archive images I could find I used though....
