It's a very nice song with some great vocals. The guitars and drums also sound pretty good. But again the drum track sounds pretty generic to me.

This could also be listed under "Gothic Rock" as well, I guess as the song reminds me of some lesser known goth bands, heh (no, that's not a a bad thing ;) ).

The track also offers a nice length. Most audio portal entries seem to be very short, so this track does stand out.

BreakingFaces responds:

Thank you so much. Hmmm, what should I do to improve my drums?

Yes, I have a little Goth inspiration. The guitar in the song was heavily influenced by the album Pornography by the Cure.

Heh, the intro part reminds me alot of "Emilia - Im a big big girl...", lol! :D

Anyways, it's a great song, perfectly mixed. No instrument is overpowering here, and no sound is too "weak", good work!

Drums and guitars sound very nice and are played very great.

I like how this song starts of pretty slow, almost like a ballad, and then gets this creepy feeling to it due to the guitars.

XD I'm a big big girl, looool!!!!
Lol drums were made with Ezdrummer so that's why they are well played! :p
Thanks a lot for your review man! :)

You're right. Vocals would completly destroy this masterpiece. It's as if the instruments are doing the singing here, so there's definatly no need for another "voice" in there.

The solo is awesome! I could never play like that even if I would practice for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 years! It totally blasts me away!

So yeah... 5/5 (I wish I could give you a 6, though) and 10/010"

A very good track with lots of variations in it. I especially liked the beginning. The effect you used here does sound as if the whole song would wow and flutter.

Throughout the song you had various breaks and variations from the main beat, which made the song very interesting. It's much more joyful to listen to a song where actually is something happening than to the same boring beat for about 5 minutes. ^^

If you want to extend this over 10 minutes you have to make sure to offer the same variety you offer here in this "short" version, or else it would get boring very quickly.

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, I think it's up over 6 minutes now, and the additions are completely different to the already existing material. New synths, some traditional instruments, so I'd like to mess with that a whole bunch and change around with those instruments, and I'm thinking about putting another set of instruments in there after that to get a large variety.
Thanks for the review and 10. I'm glad you like it, I've always been a bit unsure how the end result would be on electronica tracks, but I guess I'm starting to find more of a flow.

The melody and the rhythm are very nice and quite unique and I like how you have those little breaks during the song, it adds a bit varity to it.

My major concern with the song is that it's too quiet! It sounds the whole time as if I would listen to this from a very distant place, or as if you forgot to fade in properly. The result is a very flat sound without any bass.
So turn up the volume a little bit!

Sounds very intersting and it shows one more time that musicians shouldn't always go for the "perfectly clean" sound. A few dissonant/atonal tunes here and there can be very nice and can add a lot of depth to a song.

The background theme (that one with the bass notes in it) sounds very relaxing, the higher notes sometimes sound a bit "asian/chinese" (can't describe it in a better way :/ ), but I like that.

All in all, this is a very interesting tune that's definatly worth listening to.

Bezman responds:

Heh. Well spotted.

You know, I once spilt water on my keyboard. I played it immediately afterwards and all the notes were REALLY out of tune. It actually sounded kinda cool, though I realised I'd better turn it off and let it dry so I'd perhaps have a working keyboard once again (it worked) rather than a novelty instrument that could only play highly modulating dissonant notes.

I note you have no criticisms!

I'd better re-record this at some point in the future then, on the keyboard, and see what you think of that.

I kinda like this song. I think the vocals are pretty good and fit quite well into the song, but as Coop already mentioned the bass needs to be far more present than it is now to sound like Industrial.

What indeed sounds very much like industrials are the vocals. I really like the effect you added to the voice. This gives this whole piece that "gothic"-feeling that every industrial song needs in my opinion. ;)

BreakingFaces responds:

I hate to sound like an asshole but, Agh! I'm not trying to be industrial :P

Sound very nice to me, but somehow I'm missing some part that really stands out. Everything floats along very nicely (and perfectly mixed), but that "little extra" is missing here, I think.
Now don't get me wrong, this still is a very good piece, as there is nothing bad in it either. But I think you still can push it a little further to the "good" side. ;)

The ending is very short and comes very surprisingly, but I liked it.

BreakingFaces responds:

Thank you.
I'll try and find that little extra :)

Ha! I just love that scene (and the whole film). The song is great too. Your interpretation of the song is very nice, and I have to say: THE PHASERS HAVE TO STAY IN THERE! It just wouldn't be same without them! :P

Only thing that bothers me is that it seems a tad bit too slow... speed that thing up a bit and it will sound even better!

Mad-Muppet responds:

Someone who likes the phasers! ^^
Could be cool with a little more speed, i hear ya. Thanks for the review!
