Great

This is a really great song. It got me caught from the very first second on until the end. And this happens rarely when I listen to trance songs.

You have some very great melodies in this song and it also is quite varied, which is always a big plus.

The only thing I didn't like that much was the outro. The fading is very nice, but it suddendly ends in the middle of a tune. I think it would sound better if the last note would ring for a tact or two and the song then ended.

agreed i need to put some echo on the last note and i would have helped wrapped up the end. Great Tip haggard, thanks for the reveiw :D!

Good

When I read "trip-hop" I think of Portishead and Massive Attack. But of course it would be unfair to compare your song to those bands, as this is your first try in this genre.

The song is pretty nice and offers a good atmosphere that lies somewhere in between relaxed, mysterious and creepy.

The song also has a good length, just right for the "trippy" part in trip-hop. ;)

But I think there isn't enough happening here. The build up of the parts sure is nice, but some more melodies that stand out more would be a nice thing.

LightKeeper responds:

That was one thing I was trying to experiment with. Most of the trip-hop I listened to before was just more atmospheric, the melodies didn't really stand out and sometimes there weren't melodies. But I see what you're saying. Guess I'll just have to keep working on it. :)

Thanks for the review.

Good

The intro is longer than in the other song I reviewed before, but the build up works pretty good here.

Once again this song offers very nice beats and good melodies that have the potential of becoming stuck in the listeners head.

What I'm missing here is the intransigence that "Raving Zombies" offered. Now, of course not every song can be so hard and intense, but after all you put a Dirty Harry quote in the song (which fits pretty well there, by the way ^^).

Anway, this is still a good song, but it could've been better.

Woha

This song doesn't take any prisoners, it straight away shoots them on sight.

What I mean by this is that the song is very hard and intense and we can hear this for the very first second on. I really like that intro. Weird noises, screams and *boom*, the song starts.

The melodies are very good and they get stuck in the head.
Even though I have to agree with ChairYeoman to an extend that the song is a little bit out of tune sometimes, I really like this "out of tuneness". It gives the song that little extra that makes it different from the other songs in the audio portal.

The outro is good as well. We can hear a gun being loaded, a shot and a grunt. End.
Nice. :)

This song was kind of experimental btw
Glad you like the ending.

Good

A very nice song, and it also has vocals, yay! There's not a lot of songs with vocals in the audio portal.

The vocals are pretty good and they fit very nicely to the music. It's just that the song itself doesn't seem too special. It's above average, but it's still a bit away from the top.

Maybe if you experiment around with different instruments, because I felt some of them didn't sound quite right, for example that which we can hear at ca. 2:38. It doesn't fit that well in there.

Good

This sound pretty nice. I don't know the original of this song, so I can't say how good your cover is, but it sure does sound good.

I like the relaxed atmosphere of the intro. Too bad it is kinda "destroyed" by the techno beats at around 1:00 into the song. But this doesn't mean that the song gets bad at this point, it just becomes different, it creates a different atmosphere (maybe a "now get your lazy ass up!"-atmosphere ^^).

Anyway, this is a good song!

Good

I really like the intro with the slowly fading in melody. The melody sounds in fact very sad. The drums are nice, but a bit too loud. They overpower the melodies in this song. In my opinon the drums should be acting as a background instrument, but here they are the most noticable instrument.

The outro seems very hopeless, which of course fits well to the theme of the song.
It just ends, without any glance of hope or happyness...

Nothing too special

This sounds nice. Nothing more, but nothing less. The beginning is a bit slow, but luckily it picks up after that.
The melody is a bit strange, but fits very well together with the strange computer voices.

A very experimental song, but a clear structure is missing here in my opinion.

Scrototype responds:

I'm glad you see it the way I see it. I want it to be strange and if I knew how to play piano I'd write better melodies if I knew more about FL studio I'd make better beats. So hopefully, I'll make much better music in the future. Thanks for the review!
