Sounds strangely unpolished

You have some very nice melodies in here. Could be taken straight out of some documentation about the earth. ^^

But somehow it all sounds very unpolished, but I don't know why exactly I have this impression. Maybe you need to do some more finetuneing or it is some very slight static sounds can be heard on the high notes.

Intro needs more work, otherwise fine

I really can't see where this is supposed to be "work in progress", heh. This sounds pretty much finished to me.

Only the intro is a bit longwinded and a tad bit boring. About 46 seconds of the same beat with little to no variations in it until the main melody slowly fades in and even then it takes until 1:40 until the intro beat stops and the song slowly picks off. I think you should either cut down the length of the intro or try to make it more varied.

But once the song really starts off we can hear some very nice melodies. I think this would be a good track for a strategy game like Sim City for example, as it is calm and not too distracting.

whats with you and games all the time, this is meant for music only and not those gay flash games about anime porn ok

That screeching sound has to go

Yeah, you really messed up the intro with that sound. At first I didn't even knew what hit me (or my ears to be more precisely). Luckily after the sound stops the song gets much better, but it still needs more work.

The beat you present here is very nice, but other than that there isn't much going on apart from two small parts where a melody plays. Other than that there's just some beats and nothing more.

Simon and Garfunkel Mk II

Seriously, this totally reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel. The melody especially in the intro is so simple yet so effective, that I was instantly nodding my head to it.

When the vocals set it I was reminded of the already mentioned Simon and Garfunkel. I don't know exactly why, but maybe it's the simple melodies together with two singers singing together in harmony. Well, at least it sounds as if there are two people singing. Or is this just an effect on the voice?

Anyway, this is a very nice song, this goes straight into my favorites. :)

Incomplete?

I don't know, this sounds pretty much complete to me. Would be nice to hear that in a racing game, and not only because of the title. ;)

I think this would fit nicely in racing games like Gran Turismo, especially for tracks with lots of forests along the streets.

Only issue with this song is that it is rather short, so a little bit more work in the middle would be a pretty nice thing.

Ok, it's good to read that the structure is complete (length aside). I'll focus on spicing up the middle a bit and making it longer then.

Thank you Haggard ^__^.

Cold...

Yeah, this sounds very cold. But what can you expect from a song that's called "Ice Queen's Palace", right?

I agree with SessileNomad, though. The song is a bit too quiet, there are parts where you can hardly hear the instruments, except for when you turn up your speakers of course. But normally my speakers are set to a volume level where I can hear everything else just fine, so I think your song needs to be a tad bit louder.

Aynway, the melodies sound pretty nice and as I've already stated, very cold. It just all needs to be a bit louder. :)

I can hear it just fine? Its from the poem fire and Ice and I took the ice's perspective of course its cold lol :)

Nice 8-bit sounds

The intro is a bit boring. You stay too long on one beat there before you change it. After about 24 seconds the song gets a lot better when the other insturments set in. It takes away a bit from the boringness of the beat we listen to the time before.

However, the main melody that starts at around 0:45 is very good. It's catchy and it sounds pretty happy. It also kept me listening.

The break at 1:25 is a bit abrupt, maybe a fade would work better here (fade the beat in and the other beat we've been listening to before out).
Same goes for when you change back to the other beat.

The looping is done very well. At first I didn't even realize the song was starting over. :)

I like the part when the song changes rhythm. I can see why people would think it's too abrupt, and I'm not quite sure if I think so or not.

Generic at first, but better later on

At first I thought that this sounds pretty generic, as if I heard this a bilion times before. But once the melodies set in it got much better. I even found myself moving a bit to the melody. :)

I also like that you put some breaks from the main beat in there, especially the first one at 1:12 sounds very nice. I was hoping that it would go on a bit longer, but no such luck. :(

Anyway, this is a very nice song, good job!

I usually start my songs with something generic, just because I usually write them on the fly, and it's just to get me in the mood for the chord progression. Maybe this is something I should change... I'll look at some more professional music and see how they start their songs, perhaps I'll gain some insight.
Glad you like the break at 1:12, I was sort of nervous as to whether or not it fit in well.
Thank you for the review!

Sounds chaotic

On the first listen I thought: "Oh boy, what's that? Sounds as if the beat is all over the place..."
Then I made a little pause and started the song again. This time I could identify the beat and realized that the effects you used make this song sound chaoitc, but this time I liked what I heard. It sounds interesting and pretty different from what you can normaly hear in the audio portal, so your song is very original, I guess.

I also liked how heavy this song was, it's quite awesome.

Very nice

I don't know how often I listened to the battle theme while I played the game a few years ago. I really like what you've done with it. The echo sound on some of the instruments is a pretty good choice. This gives the song a very relaxed atmosphere, pretty different from what the battle theme was intended for (you shouldn't relax in a battle, you should fight -.- )-
