A good song. The melodies create a very nice atmosphere (yeah, I don't smoke pot, but your song makes me want to, lol) and the background beats are very driving.

I also like the vocal samples you put in every now and then. They provide that "rasta feel" you promise in the title. :D

Only thing is that this song gets a bit dull towards the end, maybe you should try to change the beat around even more.

Haha, your review put a smile on my face.

Thank you for reviewing, and changing the beat towards the end is not a bad idea.

Nice, but kinda repititve

The intro sounds very much as if this is going to be an 8-bit piece, but only until the other melody sets in at around 6 seconds into the song. The intro sounds very nice and I like the transition you chose with those drum beats.

The kick after that sounds good as well and it fits very nice to the main melody. I think you could have added something more to this part, though. It gets a bit repititve after a while.

Again a nice transition with those beats. I like how you change the melody here completly and yet it fits very well to the part before. This also keeps the song from getting too repititve, so this change is very welcome.

Overall the song is ver nice, but even though you have a change in melody in it, it still gets a bit repititve towards the end. Maybe you should have tried to change the beat around a bit.

Short but very nice

Wow, if you can do this in only 2 hours how good are your songs if you spent some more time on them? :)

This is a very good loop. The main melody is very nice and creates a very suspenseful atmosphere (I don't know if "suspensful" is the right word here... it's an atomsphere just like before big sport events. You are a little nervous, adrenaline rushes through your body and you are happy that you can take part in said event). The background music is good as well, the two melodies complement each other in a very nice way. The main melody has a very high tune and creates this happy/"suspenseful" atmosphere, while the background melody is somewhat deeper and it sounds a lot calmer.

Too bad the loop is so short, though.

Prodigal responds:

I did this in two hours thanks to the quick flash of inspiration that came from nowhere.
The image that description gave me had me thinking for a couple of good minutes, I like it!

This loop is hopefully going to turn into a full fledged song. I'll be sure to post a link on the Review Club so that you can see it!

THanks for the review :D

Needs more variation and less beeping

Those beeping sounds get annoying very quickly. Also they overpower the stuff that goes on in the background alsmost completly which I think is a pity. From what I can hear the background track sounds very good and it could create quite a creepy atmosphere. But everything is destroyed by those beeping sounds. :(

Good voices

Some very good voices in here. The first voice we can hear sounds a bit like Barry from the first Resident Evil. I was almost expecting to hear something like "you where almost a Jill Sandwich!". :D

Anyway, some of the voices sound very much alike, but on the other hand... they are all spoken by the same guy, right? ;)

I like how you can change your voices so quickly. For example the last voice we can hear changes from "world domination mode" to a quite confused and disappointed voice because the character forgot how he called his ultimate weapon.

I'll have to work some more on making unique, differentiable characters. That last voice is probably my favorite; it reminds me of something I might see on Robot Chicken (short, simple). Thanks for the review!

Good start

The song has a lot of potential in this early stage. The background beat is very driving and very powerful. It's just the kind of song that gets your adrenalin pumping even though you still have to sit through a cut scene and the preface of the battle (the boss is mocking you, the character mocks back and so forth). I have this feeling in my fingertips that I always get when a boss battle is about to start... I just don't want to lose a second and instantly hit him with all I got.

But the song still can be developed further. First of all it's a bit too short and could get boring after a while. And also it doesn't leave the "preface state". While my fingers are itching and I want to beat up the boss the game still isn't done with the cut scene yet.
So I suggest you try to add some more parts to the song. Some parts that are even more powerful than the "preface" and maybe even a bit faster. Or else it sounds like a really slow battle. ;)

Awesome, your feedback gives me a good direction of where I need to go with it. Thanks a lot :-)

Very nice

I like the amtosphere this song creates. It's somewhere between "spacey" and "very relaxing".

The mix between ambient and Drum N Bass is still very interesting and it fits amazingly well in this song. While you go a bit crazy with the DnB elements the Ambient elements always sound very smooth, which creates a very nice contrast.
This keeps the listener interested and it also makes the song sound very unpredictable.

lol spacey and very relaxing, i didnt think they were different adjectives

im glad you liked it though

peace out man

Good 8-bit sound

A very nice track. I like the relativly slow start with only the drums for the first few bars.

The melodies sound a bit too hectic sometimes (for example from 0:27 to 0:40), so you might want to work on that a bit.

But overall the song is very nice and you manage to create a very nice atmosphere with this song. I think I have to plug in my NES and play some old games now. ^^
