Nice

Well, I don't know the original, but the remix sure sounds interesting. The intro is pretty cool. It starts right away with that amazingly hard kick as if it was trying to say: "Hey, this song is going to be HARDSTYLE!" heh.

I like how you slowly introduce the melodies. They fade in over the hard kick, which sounds very interesting.

But during the song the kick sometimes overpowers the melodies, which doesn't sound that good, as the kick gets a bit annoying towards the end (yeah, this is propably the reason why I'm not that much into techno -.-).

But anyway, the song is still pretty nice. :)

Thanks for the input :) Tis' appreciated.

Very melancholic

A very nice and quite sad song. I like the slow intro, it already sets the right mood for the song.

The piano is one of my favorite instruments as you can create such amazing songs with it and you don't need any instrumetns along with it.

I also like the melodies in this song. They sound very melancholic, but it also seems as if there's still some hope left. Sometimes I can literally see the light at the end of the tunnel. ^^

Anyway, the obvious edit at the end kind of destroys the nice outro. Sure, overproducing isn't fun, but it's also not fun if the edit is so noticeable. :P
But other than that it's a very great song!

Very good loop

This is a very good loop. The backing track sounds very stealthy and creates a pretty good atmosphere. The sounds in the foreground add to the stealthy atmosphere and they also sound very good as well.
Especially that "screaming" sound.

Also, the looping is done in a very good way, nice work!

Nice, but could be better

Batman is cool, this song still needs to be a bit to be as cool as Batman. Parts of it sound a bit wrong. For example you shouldn't let the "danananana" part play while at the same time we hear the "BATMAAAN" part (I hope you get what I'm trying to say, lol). This sounds dissonant and if I remember correctly (and I'm pretty sure I am as I can play the Batman theme on my guitar :P ) it's also different in the original theme.

But I really like the 8-bitness of this track, so this song still sounds cool, yet not as cool as Batman himself. ;)

Good song

This is a very nice song. The melodies are very catchy and they create indeed a very good christmas atmosphere. Also, I think I know the song you remixed, but I just can't put my finger which song you remixed exayctly, heh.

The bells are a tad bit too quiet sometimes, especially when the main melody is playing (for example at arount 1:40, the bells can't hardly be heard).

But other than that the mastering is done very good!

DJ-Chilvan responds:

Haha, thnx! Yea, I learned an array of mastering techniques and applied them to this song. I'm glad you liked it. The name of the song I remixed is "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." It's VERY popular here in the states, like, it's impossible to find someone here who doesn't know it=P. Well, I guess holiday tunes are different in different parts of the world=).
Thanks again!

Crazy stuff

I have to say, I never listened to anything like that before, and I have listened to a lot of crazy things. ^^

It takes some time to get used to all the noise going on and at first it was really hard for me to recognize this as a song.
But I sat through the whole song and it totally worth it. It grew on me the longer I listened to it and I think it's amazing what you've done here.

I really like the stomping beats in this piece and I think i even could make out some melodies.

Only that glitchy part at 0:53 seems to be a bit misplaced there and I don't like it too much.

Good solo

This is a very good solo. Especially the first part is very soulful. But the last part (the more faster part) doesn't fit that good here, I think.

You play a lot of notes that just don't sound so good to me. Less is more here, in my opinion. ;)

thanks dude appreciate the review ;D maybe one day ill get a nice soulful song done for you :D

Very ambient

Very ambient indeed. I like how the song constantly seems to fade out and in. This creates a very special atmosphere that is hard to describe with words. It seems as if I am/my soul is floating above the scenery and I can see and hear everything, but I can't control my actions (or I am unable to take any actions at all). While I'm watching everything that happens around me, the image seems to flicker in front of my eyes. It becomes kind of foggy and transparent, then it becomes clearer again...

Anyway, while the atmosphere is nice the song is very repetitive. That's why you get "only" 8 stars from me.

This is more or less, lots of automation practice, its repetitive yes, Ill try and improve :) thank you for the review

The experiment was a success

Yeah, the intro is quite long, but it creats a very nice atmosphere. Very relaxing.

But after the intro is over it suddendly isn't so relaxing anymore. It now is a mixture between relaxing and powerful, heh.

I really can imagine people dancing to this in a disco, but I can also imagine people just sitting there enjoying the nice melodies.

However, I think the kick could be a bit stronger, especially in the second part of the song.

Tykwa responds:

It's kind of too long, so it goes from almost ambient right into something strong and something else, I might make the first melo slide in a little more timely and spread out to transition a bit smoother...

The 8bit parts don't fit that good here, I think. Particularly with regard to how they sound a bit dissonant. They propably are supposed to sound like this, but I still don't like it too much. ^^

The more classical parts on the other hand make this song sound very nice. They are well composed, except for the drums. They could be a bit louder.

Overall a nice song with some flaws here and there.
