[Frigid - IO]

Interesting

A very diversified song, which is pretty good. Especially considering the fact that this song is over 9 minutes long. It's not easy to create a song that long without getting repetitive towards the end.

The song is also pretty weird at times, but I like that as well. It's not a song you would hear on the radio, but as most music that you can hear on the radio is boring this is a compliment. ^^

Anyway, the song could be a bit louder overall. Sometimes all we can hear is the deep bass, which sounds as if you where out of ideas for a moment there.

I'll be looking into the volume issue you heard, I think its something from the low bitrating of the file distorting how the frequencies volumes are effected. I've been working on mixing and mastering as of late so hopefully I'll pick up something from this. :)

Nice

The beat is quite nice, but I have the feeling that I heard something like this before in the Audio Portal. Maybe it's from a song of you that I already reviewed, heh.

Anyway, I think you should work on the mastering a bit more. The background melodies are sometimes nearly drowned out by the lead melody, which is a real pity.

[Lose Control Demo (A->N)]

Good song

The song starts off a bit too generic for me and I didn't like the effect on the voice at first. But the song really grew on me. I listened to it a few times now and I really like it. The melodies are very catchy and so are the beats.

The voice fits perfectly to the melodies and especially towards the end where the voice sings the word "control" in the drawn-out way it sounds really awesome.

Good

Sounds like a shorter version of "Moonbow", or maybe it's just because you used the same vocals in both of the songs.

Anyway, this version definetly sounds darker than the other song and I like this dark atmosphere.
The vocals are a bit too muffled at times, as if I can only hear them from a great distance. In my opinion the vocals should be a bit clearer in this song.

[Power of Drum and BassV3]

Nice improvements

I've just listened to V2 again and I like V3 better than the previous one. You made some nice changes to this song without changeing it too much. The basics are still there, the nice melodies and the good beat, but now the song is... well, different.

I like the intro with the deep sounds and then slowly the melodies come in.
I also like the break at 2:01. It just happens at the right time: Shortly before the song gets repetitive you put a break in there, nice timing. :)
It is a bit abrupt at first, but I think it fits in there nevertheless.

I'm also glad the instrument at 2:12 now sounds a bit different. I like the new sound of it, it didn't annoy me as it did in the previous version.

So, overall you made some very nice changes and imrpoved the song a lot by doing so!

PS: I thought about the score I should give you for this for quite some time and finally decided to give you 8 stars. I wasn't sure wether I should give you 8 or 9 stars, but I think for 9 stars there's still something missing. Maybe that something will be there in V4? :)

Good song

Pretty good song. The drums could be a bit louder and use some more bass, but overall the song is nice.

I especially like the guitars. They play some simple but very effective riffs.

What the song really needs however are some vocals. I think this would make the song even better.

Good beat

The beat is really simple, but it's very catchy as well. I like the way you present the beat with that weird sounds. It gives the song are really unique touch.

The vocals fit in pretty nice as well and I think you could've used even more vocals.
The vocals should at least be a bit louder, because they are nearly drowned out by the beat.

Nice 80s style

I don't know why but when this song was over, I thought I was back in the 80s. Something about this song creates a very good 80s atmosphere. Maybe it's because I got a reminded a bit of the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop, heh.

There's really not much I can criticise about this song. It's done really good. The flow of the song is nice and everything works really well together.

Yay xD. Actually one of the reasons why I requested it in the club is to try and get a perfect 10 score from every club member, since as far as I know there was never one requested song which got a 10 from every RRC member who reviewed it before, and I'm trying to beat that record xD. The other reason is to try and perfect this song, so if one of you guys manage to find a defect in it and give me less than a 10, at least I can get it as perfect as possible xP.

You know, now that you mentioned it, this DOES have that Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack feel to it. The rhythm is quite similar and they both have the same atmosphere. Anyway, thanks for the review!

Good song, but kick needs to be stronger

I think this is a good song that creates a very nice and happy atmosphere. I especially like the piano (well, the instrument that sounds like a piano). Even though it only plays very simple stuff it sounds pretty good.

However, I think the kick could be a bit stronger. It's nearly drowned by the very loud melodies.

[Fond of Fortresses]

Cracking sound is annoying

This is a good song with some great melodies and a nice beat in the background.

However, I really don't like that cracking sound we can hear almost the entire song. It starts already in the intro and plays for nearly a minute, and later on we can hear it again.
It really started to annoy me when it played for the second time and for me it really destroys an otherwise briliant song.

In my opinion you should let the cracking sound only play in the intro and there for maybe 30 seconds, not longer.
