Best one so far

Out of the three piecec I reviewed today this is the best one so far. I like the colors here a lot. While the other two (Black desert and Boilogical Catastrophe) had pretty dark ones, this picture is very bright and offers a nice scale of different colors.
But even more important, the colors fit pretty well together and I like how they appear just everywhere and nowhere on the sreen (if that makes sense ^^). It's kinda like a storm going on and all the colors - once perfectly ordered - are now a hughe mess, circling around the eye of the storm.

But again, the picture loses a tiny bit of it's impression because I have to scroll left and right to see the whole pic. Time for a double monitor setup, I guess. :P

Hehe, a double monitor might do the trick here...

I'm feeling watched...

As if a million eyes are staring at me from the dark...

That's what I felt when viewing the picture in full size.
The colours here are very psychadelic, as if I was on an acid trip (at least that's what I think an acid trip is like; I don't do drugs ^^).

Too bad my screen isn't big enough to view this picture without scrolling. I think the pic loses a bit of it's impression now that I have to scroll back and forth to see everything of the pic.

Don't worry, there is no screen big enough to fit this image on full size on NG..still, you can use ctrl+ mouse wheel to zoom a bit out...
Thanks for your review.

Full Size is necessary

This is nice. This is actually the first piece where full size is absolutely necessary or else the viewer will miss out a lot of details.

For examples, the rays that come from the right hand side of the picture aren't really visible in the format it appears here in the portal. Only if you watch it in full size you can see them in their full beauty. ;)

The colors in the picture are very nice and go along pretty well together. Good work!

Very nice review, l make high-res pictures because they look better and have more details...in fact, l deleted my only low-res pic from here because l didn't like it that much....

Reminds me a bit of "First Flight"

This picture reminds me a bit of the dragon in your "first flight" picture, even though they look quite different. Strange.

But maybe it's the similar setting that reminds me of the other picture. A dragon and a cliff, heh.

Anyway, this is again a very detailed picture. Even though it's night and all colours are pretty dark I still can make out the mountains in the background and the dragon too is very detailed.
Other than Jeffshaw, I like the legs. I like how I can see the muscles on the left foreleg. It looks like the dragon makes himself ready to start off to a flight through the night.

EchoRun responds:

Maybe the similarity (aside from the colours and setting) is they they are both using traditional medium where the strokes are visible. I get that with this, like I also find most of my digital images similar, my paintings have their own style, and my inks are different too.

I like adding muscles to a piece, it makes the image lean that little bit closer to the realism that is my goal... *sigh*

Thanks for the review. :)

Nice, but a little rough

This is a nice picture. I like the mostly dark colors you used (well, except for the face, obviously). Fits very well with the grey background, too.

However, the drawing itself is a little rough and sketchy, but I guess that is because it's your first time ever drawing with a tablet.

Furthermore I think the "Ha!"'s in the background look a little bit too blurred.
Also, the mouth and the eyes don't look exactly scary. Maybe showing some teeth and having a little more of an angry expression would help here.

Viridis responds:

Thanks for the review man. The HA's are blurred because I couldn't find the proper quality picture of this, so the .jpeg format raped the quality to shit. :(

I was looking forward to review this

As soon as I saw the request in the RRC thread I was looking forward to finally review this and the picture didn't disappoint me!

Way more than the scales I like the little lines in the background, because I think the background gives the picture a more "realistic" look.

The dragon itself is again done very nicely. I do not like the head that much, but maybe our image of dragons differs a bit here. ;)

Anyway, another great picture!

EchoRun responds:

Its ok to like one type of dragon over another - when it comes to dragon art, the imagination is the limit and everyone is bound to have their own idea. :)

I did a lit of playing around with that background - first it was a few rocks and trees, but the lines were not right, then it was a load of sloping rocks and a bit of sky, but that made it look like it was at too much of an angle. Then I settled on the cliff face and spent a good while making my mind up as to what type of cliff face would look best - turns out there are a lot of different looking ones!!

So yeah, glad you like it! Lol. :)

Best one so far

Wow, a picture where I like all sides equally. ;)

I think the face is drawn very good, whereas the body still needs some work. The scenery is quite nice, but I like Fro's idea of having a few waves in the sky because of it being in a desert where it's usually pretty hot.

But I like how the colors go along pretty well together in this picture.

Silent-G responds:

how do you know? have you ever been in a real desert before? you've probably only been in one of those fake deserts that you see in car commercials where the car is doing donuts and shit and kicking up dust. I was trying to draw one of those real deserts where you can tell the difference between right and wrong, and there are never waves in the sky, and you can't even tell how hot it is. thanks for the review.

Nice characters

In this picture I like the bottom half more than the top half, heh.

Again the characters look pretty nice, even though it seems you just drew one character and mirrored the other one off it.

I can't figure out what to do with those purple thing in the sky, though. Kinda disturbs the picture as those colors don't fit with the other colors you used. But maybe that was just your intention? Disturbing the picture with colors that don't fit.

Silent-G responds:

that was always my intention, I never make mistakes. thanks for the review.

Kinda nice

The longer I look at this picture the more I like it. At first I was "Eww, too much pink!" but then noticed the characters in the picture.

So, I like the left half of the picture very much, the character in front looks quite good. But the right side contains too much purple and I don't like the rectangles you placed there. They don't seem to fit into the picture.

{ Review Request Club }

Silent-G responds:

yeah, I got bored and went a little overboard with the rectangles. thanks for the review.

Good

Even though the picture is mostly blue it's still quite nice to look at it (or maybe BECAUSE it is mostly blue? It's said that blue has a calming effect on people ^^).

I don't know if the slight cracks in the picture are intentional, but they fit to the picture anyway. It somehow underlines the sadness of the main character.

Insanimation responds:

Yeah, that texture with the cracks were intentional. Thanks :)
