Good sketch

This is a pretty good sketch. The hair looks very good and the propotions of the face are very realistc. Only the nostrils are a bit too small. Also I think the eye should be visible, but where it would appear only skin can be seen. However, the hair doesn't cover the entire area where the eye should be.

Yeah, stuff

There's a light at the end of the tunnel

The light effect on the door is very nice, but it's too bad that there's this frame around the picture that doesn't really belong there. It destroys the nice effect of the picture, in my opinion.

Fro responds:

Yeah, I might trim it, but this stuff is out of the art portal and art really isn't my thing so it's going to be fine the way it is I think.

Too sketchy

This looks too sketchy. The idea behind this is pretyy good, but the facial expressions are hard to make out and especially the face on the far left doesn't look too good.

I think you used a too thick brush here. Try using a smaller tool and zoom in. This gives you better control about what you're doing.

Even the text in the picture is hard to read. It's better to write texts with a text tool and then choosing a font that looks like handwriting than to write text with a pencil or a brush tool.

Good

The drawing is very good, the shark looks very realistic. Also the lightning in this picture is done very well.

However, I'm missing some more details in here. The fishes in the lower right corner are a nice start, but I'd expect a lot more things to go on here. A bit sea weed on the ground, more fishes, some swimming right next to the shark (like you can always see in those documentaries), etc. .

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely add some details beyond the main focus of the drawing in future drawings

Doesn't work for me

At first I thought: "Nice colors", then I watched this in full size, but couldn't make anything out. Too bad.

Then I read your description and can now understand your intensions. And yes, I think I can see the nose now. ;)

But it still doesn't really work for me. I mean, I still like the colors and it's nice to look at the picture, but I'm missing the "wow" moment here. :)

TiberiumCrystalKutu responds:

Hmm. You are very right.

Nice

This only works when viewed in full size. Watching this scaled down doesn't give me much, but when I clicked "View Full Size" I could see this picture in it's full beauty. ;)

The details are very amazing on the sculpture. I also like that I sometimes think: "Ah, it resembles an animal!" then a second later "oh, no it doesn't"... then again a few seconds later I see something different in it, then again I don't see it and so on... :D

However, I think the sculpture should be more in the center of the image, not like cut off on the left side.

Good work!

Hmmm. I see. Thanks. This is an awesome review.

Nice one

This looks very nice and as if it was a picture taken with a camera.

The colors are pretty nice and even though it is mostly orange I don't think that there are colors missing here. In fact I think because it is mostly one color it is very nice to look at.
The shadings are done just perfect, the shadows are all in the right place and the arc seems to stand out a bit. Very nice.

As others have stated, the head looks a bit odd but I can't really put my finger on it why it does look strange. Maybe it's the "nose" that doesn't really fit here.
Also I don't like that the picture is sort of cut at the edges. The legs and paws of the gryphon are cut off, which doesn't look that good, in my opinion.

KrevZabijak responds:

Thank you! I really enjoyed doing this contrast/shadow type study. I'm glad the arch was successful in casting the shadows I wanted, thank you very much for commenting on that- was worried about it.
Yeah, once again, the head... I had a short time to gather resource material and they all had a blank head, but the bodies were filled in nicely.. so.. I just used my imagination, except for the beak, which if you look at other images, their beaks are formed like that, a downturn at the tip, like some hawks. The hook at the bottom of the downturn is also commonplace in gryphon heads.

I cut it at the edges because I totally lost my mind at the paws. It came out looking like just another pair of decorative floral swirls, so I decided to showcase what I was successful at. :D

Thank you very much, again, for your review, Haggard! Muchly appreciated.

Nice

At first I thought "what's this supposed to be?", but when I read your comment I understood your intention with this picture and I have to say I really like it.

The grass looks very realistic. You managed to get the colors and shadings almost perfect here, good work on that one.

The "strange thing" looks threatening and calming at the same time. When I look at this pic in small size, it looks as if a hughe "thing" hides there waiting for me to come closer.
When I look at the pic in full size, all the lights have a very calming effect. They look almost like glowworms.

Thanks for understanding that. This was exactly my inspiration. Thanks for that review. I really appreciate that.

The planet looks good

The planet looks really great, even though there are those green and yellow "dots" here and there where a blue color would fit better, but overall it's a good looking planet.

The stars don't look that good in my opinion. I think they should "twinkle" a bit more.

When I try to create space art. I always have problems with the stars. Anyway, thanks for that review.

The green is too bright

Personally I think the green is too bright here. It hurts the eyes a bit if I look for too at this picture.

Also, there are sometimes some blue and green colors "in" the red colors which don't look too good in my opinion.

But on the other hand the title of the picture is right. It looks joyful because of the very bright colors, plus it is a chaos with no clear structure visible.

TiberiumCrystalKutu responds:

Well, to make it exactly a chaos, I had to choose something that makes you want to turn your sight in another colour, and yet feel dizzy, so what is better for this job from a bright green(although it is a bit too bright). Thanks for that advice.
