Nice try

Actually the movie is quite funny. I like that you chose to draw a "realy" character instead of just a stickman. The drawings look pretty good.

The animations are quite smooth as well. Nothing too fancy here, but overall it all looks very natural. I liked that you used a simple red line to indicate the "fire" that came out of the boys guts. It isn't too hard to draw a red line and yet it looked pretty good. Even took me a time to realize it was just a simple line.
However, the lines didn't work that well for the lasers that last thing was shooting from his eyes. Maybe you should use a smaller tool to draw the beams.

The storyline is a bit weird, but maybe it can be explained that everything just was the kid's imagination.
The sound effects are chosen well. Maybe you could cut down on the "swish"-sounds the boy made every time he moved. It got a bit annoying towards the end.
Also the voice over had a lot of statics in it, you should try to fix that.

Yeah, at first I started to make it with a stickfigure, but then I thought that almost every movie features a stickman, so I drawed a real character instead. Yeah, the story is weird. I have no idea if it is his imagination or if it is for real :P. I totally agree, the beams look a bit cheap, I know, I could've put in some more effort into those.

Good for a first

This is very good for a first flash. The graphics look very decent and I'm glad you decied to create "real" characters instead of stickmen or explosm.net-like characters (those kind of style wouldn't have worked with the song anyways, but lots of flash authors seem to go the easy way in creating those relatively easy to draw characters).

Anyway, the atmosphere in this flash is very dark. This is intensified by the sad song , so I think you've done a good job in creating a video for this track.

However, I didn't like that the lines in this flash where constantly fluctuating. This makes it very hard to watch the flash because it's hard to concentrate on what's going on. You should try to create still backgrounds the next time. It looks much better, in my opinion.

The shakey effect was a risk, I'm unsure about it myself, it would of been alot quicker to make without it, easier to draw and alot smaller in size, but most people so far have seemed to like it.

Meh

Randomness can be funny. Sadly it wasn't funny in this flash. Maybe I just didn't get enough of what was shown on screen because everything went by so damn fast.

Why's the screen so tiny anyway? It made it even harder to watch this flash.

Well, to improve, I'd suggest you use the standard sized canvas, that way it's much easier to see what's going on on the screen.
As for the storyline... well, there's not much I can suggest here, if you are happy with what you have created here, then by all means continue to do flashes like this. Just not my cup of tea, I guess. ^^

PowerRangerYELLOW responds:

I always did flashes in the standard sized canvas but to be honest i get bored of doing the same screen size over and over.

I've been trying different frame rates, canvas sizes, ect because it is at least something different.

Good random flash, annoying ending

A movie about a game, hm. I think this is a quite original idea, it would have been nice to see the person who played the game at least once in the flash, though.

The randomness in the game/flash was pretty funny. At first we see the mummy in the tomb and some sort of archologist. Then suddendly the mummy flies away in a magical cloud and a snake is spit at it by a huge birdlike creature... the sphinx is there and hits the mummy down, then we also have a werewolf and a giant robot. Phew, quite a lot of weird things in this short amount of time. ^^

The ending was really unexpected and gave me another good laugh. However, the sounds are pretty annoying and I think you should have cut the ending a bit shorter.

I thought it was pretty original. Would have been better with mario sprites though :/

Good flash

The song is very nice. It's kind of sad, but it is also a very ironical song. "Hey, your feet fell off. Just sell your shoes, because I can't help you, ok?"

The mouth movement was done very nicely and I liked how you brought in the doctor in the refrain. It was a bit strange how the doctor always said "I", though. ^^

Anyway, the flash could have used some more scenes in between, because it gets a bit boring to only see the main character sitting around. Or maybe the room could be filled with something more than just the obligatory poster of the human anatonmy on the wall, it would make the flash look less bland.

Jimtopia responds:

Heh, I honestly for the life of me could not think of other posters to put on the wall, for some reason all I could think of were dental posters, and those wouldn't have fit at all. :(

Anyway, thanks for the review, and I'm glad you noticed the way the doctors mouth movements, it's actually intentional, you see since the character is telling the story he refers to himself as "I" but the doctor would in fact be saying "You" which is what I actually had him say.

Lol, I thought way to much about that.

Decent

The song here was pretty nice and the animation was somewhat fitting to it. But I think you can improve this flash a lot.
Now, I'm not saying this is crap, because that wouldn't be true. The flash shows that you have learned the basics when it comes to FBF animations, now you should try to improve your skills by practicing.

I think the flash ran a bit too slow, as if I was watching something in slow motion. If you turn up the fps rate the animation runs a lot smoother, but of course this means you have to draw more pictures or else the animation will look very sloppy or everything will be too fast.

The choice of colours was decent, no too bright colours here, but they could look a bit more realistic. The sky had only one deep blue colour, but if you look at the sky outside you'll notice that it gets darker and darker the higher you look. I know this is very hard to do, but I think your flash will look a lot better if you try to add some shadings to the colours you chose.

Thank you

Good collab

This is a very well done collab. It's harmonious from the beginning to the end. Starting with the nice scene before the preloader, over the great idea for the mouse pointer (hand with a pencil) to the blue lines we could see throughout the flash, creating the image that we watch drawings in a spiral writing pad .

However, those blue lines sometimes appeared to be in front of the drawings, instead of behind them. This looked as if we would watch those animations through a blue grid or something... anyway, this is only a minor flaw and doesn't take away too much from the awesomeness of this collab! :)

I'm not quite sure why that happened. I think it was just the way that the guy made his part, or maybe the down grading from CS4 to 8. Either way, it's still good.
Thanks for the review. :)
