The main melody of this song is very nice, and the beat is good too.

But it's too repititve. The song is over 3 minutes long, but there just isn't happening enough to keep the song from getting a bit boring towards the end.

You should try to add some more parts and different melodies to the track.

Very relaxing indeed. I just came home and had quite a hard day. I went to NG and listened to this piece... I did what you said (I sit back and listened to the track) and what should I say? I feel better now! :)
Maybe it's not only due to your track, but also because I just relaxed for a few minutes. But your song definatly helped a lot.

I especially like the powerful drums here. Most other tracks on NG have some very bland sounding drums, but these here are so bassy, so deep, it's amazing.

It's a very nice song and I think you've done a good job playing it.

Sometimes it seems as if the deeper notes are slightly off and dissonant, but maybe there's something wrong with my ears, heh.

However, I like your interpretation of the song quite a lot.

Thanks!
There might be some notes off but for the most part I did my best to make sure all the notes were spot on. thanks for the review!

I like the original from the movie where much and I think you've done a good job here.

But I think this song needs a more "monumental" sound to it. Maybe a second piano track with a little echo added to it would help here.
Also, I think the vocal line should be imitated with some instrument, too.

OMG. Im sorry i didnt reply to this. Um... lol but thanks for the review!
Yeah it is just a little bit flat.

It has quite a funky feel to it, but I didn't like the changes to the "flutes" (well, they sound like flutes...). It somehow doesn't really fit in there. Maybe the change from that "big band feeling" to the "one flute player feeling" is too big.

Also, the song is somewhat repititve. Some more parts would be very nice to have here. Maybe even some lyrics, but those wouldn't fit that good into your "marching band" theme, I guess.
But sound samples would still work here.

The song didn't loop that good, which is also a small minus. The change from the end to the beginning sounds too abrupt.

It's a good theme song. It is much like a catchy tune. I can hear the melody in my head right now, even though I stopped the song a few minutes ago.
In my opinion, this is what a theme song has to be like. It's almost as if I can already see your character having his appearance in the flash movie while this song plays... so, I guess you have done everything right here! Good work!

This song gets stuck in my head alot too lol.

It's a very nice tune. You put a lot of variations in here, so the song doesn't get repititve, which is always a big plus. ^^

Also, you added vocals here, which too keeps the song from getting boring.

Only thing that bothers me is the rather bad cymbal/hi-hat sound. It just sounds too artificial. But I guess that's because of the program you used to create this. Good drum sounds are pretty hard to come by.

The song has a very "spy feeling" to it. It reminds me a bit of James Bond. So it propably means that you are on a good way.

But it somehow feels too much like lounge music right now, so a creepier atmosphere would be nice. Maybe it would already help if you take out that little break at around 0:44.

Also, the song should loop a bit better. Because right now there's a little gap at the end, which makes it a bit hard to use this track as a background theme.

Wow, that is a very intense song. The strange rhythm makes the song very interesting.
Even though a 5/4 beat is a very odd one it sounds really nice and surprisingly "ordered" (couldn't find a better word ^^).

I can really imagine the crowds going crazy to this song on the dancefloor! :)

Too bad it gets a little bit repititve towards the end. Some different parts there would be a very nice addition (maybe a change in the beat would already do the trick).

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, there are a couple of other 5/4 submissions for the DnB time signature contest, and the beats in those songs sounded less "ordered" to put it that way. I mean, when you listen to an irregular time signature, you usually have that awkwardness which I was surprised wasn't so apparent here. Yeah, there's not a lot of variation here, and the beat stays the same. I'd love to mix it up some, but I guess this is another prime example of something that has potential but falls short of that potential due to laziness.

Thanks for the review.

It's a very nice song. The beat is great and I really can imagine that this would sound EVEN BETTER with some lyrics added to it.
Hopefully some talented rapper uses this fine piece for a song in the near future. :)

The track definatly feels like the 50. Not so much in the beginning, where it reminds me more of hip hop from the 90 (like Wu Tang, etc.).
But the "50s feeling" gets more and more present the longer the track plays. Nice work!
