I'm not sure which version I like better. The first version had that "oldschool video game" feeling to it, but this one has a very nice orchestral sound. Also, this track is longer than Version 1, which is also a good thing.

But you should try to make the orchestra a tad bit louder. It's too much in the background now, so that it's nearly a bit hard to make out... even though there isn't much else going on there!

You also should work on the ending a bit. It sounds pretty much cut off right now.
I think the ending at 2:12 is already pretty good, so you should cut out the rest after that.

Sounds great. Like some tune from an old video game (those shooter games, like Silkworm). Too bad it doesn't loop or it would have been perfect!

Anyway, I like how the song slowly builds up. At first we only have the nice background beat, and then the main melody sets in. Good work.
Should be a bit longer, though. ;)

BreakingFaces responds:

thanks, but I had to make it that short because it's the theme song for a cartoon that won't even last that long per episode.

It's a good loop and the sound of it is nice, too. I think this would be very nice to have as a menu melody.

However, at around 0:10 into the song, some of the drum beats sound a bit off beat there. You should try to fix that, as it sounds very strange.

I definatly can "feel" the Final Fantasy in this tune. But the beat is too heavy, I guess. Normally Final Fantasy tracks are more "melody driven", while this song is more "beat driven" (I hope you get what I mean...).

With that heavy beat and the light melodies it sounds very much like some soundtrack from 80s action movies (starring Hulk Hogan or similar 80s stars ^^).

Overall, it's a nice track.

Hi haggard, yeah i added a lil bit of beat driven tune, and perc to sound more trancy, and reworked on percussion and synths, i kinda left a lil of the vintage sound synths kinda like them :P, not the best track but its fun to play with it :D

The song sounds very much like the songs that are used in the Resident Evil games. Sinister and creepy.

The orchestral sound of the instrument creates a very dense atmosphere.

You should work a bit on the end, though. Right now it just fades out... that doesn't sound right there. Maybe it would be better if you'd just stop, without any hold notes.

I don't play resident Evil (I don't like horror games) but thank you for the suggestion,

This is a very great drum track with some very nice rhythms. I was tapping the rhythm more than once during this song. ^^

Even though the track is nearly 4 minutes long, I didn't find it repititve. But that may also be because I really LOVE drum solos. ^^

I think it would be great if you (or some skilled guitarist) would add a guitar track to this. I think it would sound very great.

I've got a friend that's a pro at guitars, so maybe he'll do something. Thanks for the review!

This is a great track. I like the little "game" the instruments play here. Some very light sounding melodies and then those earthshattering deep melodies... both fit very well together.

I'm amazed how the light sounding melodies can compete with that deep piano, but somehow they do... and it sounds good! :)

I also like that the song doesn't get repititve at all. Just when I have the feeling that a certain melody was going on for long enough now a change in rhythm or melody came. Very nice.

DjCompass responds:

Well, i'm quite flattered. I'm pretty sure this is my longest song yet, and everbody likes how unrepetive it is! Hooray!
Apparently it was also among my best as far as instrument choice go =D
So thanks for the review, i always appreciate a boost to my ego.

Yes, it sounds very sad. And yet, it sounds as if not all hope is already lost. The light at the end of the tunnel is still there. ;)

Too bad that this is so short. I'd like to hear that expanded into a longer track, with a few more instruments added to it. A classical guitar or a second piano would fit in here, I think.

The melodies and the beats you used here are very nice. The problem is, that the song is quite long, but there's not that much happening here.

The result is, that the song keeps itself in the background too much for my taste.
A few more parts/melodies would be pretty nice to have here.

The description is quite interesting, even though I thought at first that the whole "cursed" part is overdone. But you added a good joke at the end with the psychologist (I think you should have written "Psychiatrist" there...).

Anyway, the song is... well... different. It sounds a little bit spooky from time to time, but the long pauses really hurt this piece. They destroy every bit of atmosphere that the song might create.

Cut out the long pauses and add a bit more to the song. Maybe a drum track with Bongo drums and some sinister humming in the background.
