I'm glad you PM'd me about this song, or else I would have missed it.

I listened again to Creeping-Dan's song and now to this one. The vocals sure add a nice touch to the song and I think the lyrics are very good.

The singing is done good too, even though the reverb effect is kinda disturbing here.

Too bad you only had the MP3 to work with, because now most of the basses of this song are lost. But I know what you mean by saying the bass drum is way too loud in the original song. Well, because it is ;) .

Anyways, this is a good song and it's even better with the vocals. Now all we need is some more bass! :)

Thanks for the review, man, I thought you'd like it.
I like the lyrics, too. I consider them the best I've ever written.
Is the reverb disturbing in a bad way, or a good way?
And about the bass, or lack thereof...I think I'm gonna try to pick out enough of the song to do a bass line and throw that in there too, because I hadn't realized how fizzy it sounds.
So keep on watch for the update.
Metal forever!
PS What did you think of the guitar solos?

Haha, this is really funny. This helium voice just makes me laugh :D .

The sound quality is rather low (maybe due to the shitty mic), but it's definetly a very funny track. I think Led Zep would be proud if they knew of this track ^^.

I doubt it, but thanks.

Another very interesting and "psychotic" track from you.

I like the strange noises combined with the repeated "It's all right". Kinda reminds me of Radiohead's "How to disappear completely", where Thom repeats "I'm not here, this isn't happening" over and over again, just that this seems to be from an opposite point of view. Yes, it IS happening, but everything is fine... and if I keep saying this to me, I might acuallty believe it.

Wow, thanks a lot for taking the time to review my stuff. This song is sort of a hazey little thing. And that's exactly the mood I was going for. After your comments, I think I'm actually going to redo the vocals on this. Cause it does have some potential, but the vocals need some structure, plus, I kind of had a cold when I recorded em...

This sounds very interesting. Shows that one can create interesting sounds even with broken equipment ^^.

I definetly can imagine this being used in a flash. It just have to be some kind of "psychotic" flash based on the style of games like Silent Hill or movies like Eraserhead.

Yeah, it turned out a bit like a really fucked up, dirty Aphex Twin.

The song starts of very nicely with that drums. They have a very good beat.

The guitar is quite overamplyfied and because of that the vocals sound a bit unclean, too. So you definatly have to work on the sound quality. I can imagine that it's very hard to get good quality in sound, but I think it's definetly worth it.

I really like the song as of now, the beat is good, the guitar is played quite well and I just like your voice. It's a very characteristic voice and that makes your song easy to distinguish from all the other songs here in the audio portal.
But I would like the song even better with better sound quality ;) .

LenardNotLenny responds:

Yeah, I can get a nice quality, but not that great. And I'm all in Garageband, due to lack of funds to get a better program, and its hard to get a nice distortion on there. The main problem with my guitar is that throughout all my stuff, I'm using an acoustic guitar. Because, I don't have a cord to get my electric to the comp, and without a chord, the electric sounds like shit. So, until I get that cord, my guitar shall forever have better-than-possible quality.

Whew. That was a long winded explanation...

As I've already written in "Robot Sound Effect: 1" it would be much better to submit a nice collection of various "robot sounds" in a single file. Of course with some pauses between the single effects to make it easier to just take the sound one likes best.

Conal responds:

Hmm... k.

It's way too short to be really useful. SoundFX are all nice and stuff, but I think if you had put in some more "robot effects" this would be of more help to a flash artist.

One single sound only has a small chance of being used, but if you'd manage to submit a whole "collection" of robot sound effects I think that people could simply download and alter it to their needs. I can think of robot voices, some "metallic movements" (as in the metallic "clank" when a robot walks, etc.).

With this single sound, artists don't have much choice.. either use it or don't use it. With some more sounds the chance that an author might use some of them is much higher.

Conal responds:

I'm sure I'll get some sources.

I have to say that I didn't like that one. Sounds as if I don't tune in a radio station on my radio somehow... but maybe it can be used just as that in a flash.

But to me it seems as if very little effort was put into this submission. It's very short and not very entertaining, to say the least...

The good thing about this is that it loops just perfectly.
