Good song

A very good song. It starts off very slow, but it picks up a few seconds into the song.

I really like the melody, it creates a very nice atmosphere: Not overly happy or cheerful, but not sad or melancholic either. I think you found a good mix between those emotions.

The ending is a bit disappointing, though, it ends too suddendly.

Hmm, it should loop if im correct..

Sorry for being short, its late and ive been very busy.

Ofcourse thanks for the review i apreciate it. :)

Good song

Well, the sound quality is a bit low, but the song still kicks ass. I like the drums here. They have a good sound (despite the overall low sound quality ^^), especially the bass drum sounds pretty good.

The guitar plays some nice stuff as well, but it seems as if it is mixed very far to the right side, the left side seems to be a bit uncared-for. This doesn't sound too good to me.

Sawdust responds:

Well, I had one guitar on the right and one on the left, if I can recall. And I kept the drum in the center as well. Oh well, at least you enjoyed it! Thanks for the review!

Good

Heh, you don't hear the marimba too often in the audio portal, so it's nice to review a piece where that instruments plays the "main part" in a song for a change.

Well, the melodies sure are nice and they go along well together with the title. I actually had an image in mind that had to do with raindrops falling.

Too bad the sound quality is so low. I think it must be really hard to record the marimba, but sometimes it's just too quiet. It would be nice if you could try out a few things to improve the sound quality, like playing a bit louder, moving the mic nearer to the instrument and such things.

Cimba responds:

Did you listen to it on a laptop because i have noticed that that makes the sound quality much worse

Good song

This song creates a very good atmosphere. Just the right thing I need on a sunny day like this. :)
It feels very relaxing, but it also feels as if there's some kind of "threat" in the background. This fits really good to the title. Just as if the song is saying: Yes, there are some problems that needs to be adressed, but everything is going to be all right, so don't worry.

I really like this song.

Thanks, I'm glad you think so :D! Never seen it as a sunny day though, but I do now :D :D!

I'm glad you picked up on the subtle threat I put in there! I'll be sure to address the problems that have come up :3. Thanks for your kind words and the fave :D :D!

Good song

Well, this is a very good song. I'm still not too fond of the glitch-genre, but what you make out of it sounds just amazing.

I like how diversyfied this song is, it just never gets repetitive, even after listening to it 3 times in a row.

I also like the fast pace of the song, it just sounds great in the fast parts. :)

thanks dude

ill make you like glitch sooner or later xD

Now I have to play some NES games

Great song. From the very first note on I liked the 8-bit feeling of this song and I thought: "Oh well, time to play some NES games again."

Sometimes the different instruments seem to be a bit random, but the overall picture of this song works quite well. As I've said, the 8but-atmosphere is there from the very first note on.

The voice could be a bit clearer. Not too much clearer, though as the robotic voice fits very well to the song, but if it hadn't been for the lyrics been posted in the comments I wouldn't even have noticed the voice.

Calamaistr responds:

wouldnt even have noticed the voice.. hmm..

Well this isnt a heavy track so i guess i could make the voice a bit clearer sometime, rendering would be no longer than half a minute tops.

Most people now said this so i guess it is. Ill see what i can do sometime.
Ive just finished work on another album track anyway, and also editted some older tracks of the album all taking me around 5 hours to render individually so im normally a bit reluctant to edit things, but this is a lightweight so np.

Thanks for the review again man. -Cal

Interesting

A very diversified song, which is pretty good. Especially considering the fact that this song is over 9 minutes long. It's not easy to create a song that long without getting repetitive towards the end.

The song is also pretty weird at times, but I like that as well. It's not a song you would hear on the radio, but as most music that you can hear on the radio is boring this is a compliment. ^^

Anyway, the song could be a bit louder overall. Sometimes all we can hear is the deep bass, which sounds as if you where out of ideas for a moment there.

InvisibleObserver responds:

Thanks Haggard for RRC fulfilment (though I've recieved reviews from you in the past without requesting - thanks).

I'll be looking into the volume issue you heard, I think its something from the low bitrating of the file distorting how the frequencies volumes are effected. I've been working on mixing and mastering as of late so hopefully I'll pick up something from this. :)

The feedback is appreciated.

Good

Sounds like a shorter version of "Moonbow", or maybe it's just because you used the same vocals in both of the songs.

Anyway, this version definetly sounds darker than the other song and I like this dark atmosphere.
The vocals are a bit too muffled at times, as if I can only hear them from a great distance. In my opinion the vocals should be a bit clearer in this song.

Nice improvements

I've just listened to V2 again and I like V3 better than the previous one. You made some nice changes to this song without changeing it too much. The basics are still there, the nice melodies and the good beat, but now the song is... well, different.

I like the intro with the deep sounds and then slowly the melodies come in.
I also like the break at 2:01. It just happens at the right time: Shortly before the song gets repetitive you put a break in there, nice timing. :)
It is a bit abrupt at first, but I think it fits in there nevertheless.

I'm also glad the instrument at 2:12 now sounds a bit different. I like the new sound of it, it didn't annoy me as it did in the previous version.

So, overall you made some very nice changes and imrpoved the song a lot by doing so!

PS: I thought about the score I should give you for this for quite some time and finally decided to give you 8 stars. I wasn't sure wether I should give you 8 or 9 stars, but I think for 9 stars there's still something missing. Maybe that something will be there in V4? :)

jpgregorio responds:

thx, really means a lot :D

Nice 80s style

I don't know why but when this song was over, I thought I was back in the 80s. Something about this song creates a very good 80s atmosphere. Maybe it's because I got a reminded a bit of the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop, heh.

There's really not much I can criticise about this song. It's done really good. The flow of the song is nice and everything works really well together.
Nice work! :)

Step responds:

Yay xD. Actually one of the reasons why I requested it in the club is to try and get a perfect 10 score from every club member, since as far as I know there was never one requested song which got a 10 from every RRC member who reviewed it before, and I'm trying to beat that record xD. The other reason is to try and perfect this song, so if one of you guys manage to find a defect in it and give me less than a 10, at least I can get it as perfect as possible xP.

You know, now that you mentioned it, this DOES have that Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack feel to it. The rhythm is quite similar and they both have the same atmosphere. Anyway, thanks for the review!
