The graphics of this are pretty decent, even though the outlining of some objects like buildings could be a bit better.

The voice acting was done quite good, but sadly the sound quality was really low. Don't hold your mouth that close to the mic, those breathing sounds are really annoying.

I think some "fighting sounds" would be great here as all the fighting scenes seemed a bit bland without sounds.

Sometimes there were graphics that were gone in fraction of a second. Maybe those were meant as "subliminal messages", but I really couldn't tell what it was :P (ok, the first one was an old german flag, with the colors black, white and red).

The plot didn't reveal itself to me that much. I really don't know how the last scene (with the mario score) fit into this flash. Maybe it was because I couldn't understand what those to socoms were talking about due to the bad sound quality.

The moral in this song is so simple that it really hurts -.- . But ok, it's a song for children, so one can't expect really deep thoughts in this.

I don't know if old DDR-songs are that helpful getting your message through, as the DDR was neither socialistic nor democratic but a flat-out dictatorship.
So, it's kinda ironic to use such a song to get your message through.

But you chose good animations to express the lyrics and your thoughts. Help others, and you will be helped. I wish more people would think that way.

I think the west demonises DDR too much. I am not saying it was perfect and I know it was a dictatorship, but it was socialist, even though many people argue that a truly socialist country must be democratic. I think DDR wasn´t that bad. Majority of people had a decent life, except for political dissidents who tried to escape to the west, but I am not talking about them, because after the borders closed, they were only few.

All people had a job, there was a strong children support by the government, free health care, education, kindergardens and many awards each year like for example ``Held der Arbeit´´, which were given to ordinary people who helped to build socialism in East Germany, and as a token of gratitude they were given better appartments, dachas, cars, a lifelong rent, and fame.

With time passing by Germany became more and more democratic.

But the meaning of this movie is to help people!

Never expected to hear songs of Ernst Busch on Newgrounds :D .

I think you've done a good job animating the song and the animations go along very well with the lyrics. I liked that you had subtitles in german and in english and you also managed to keep the original meaning of the lyrics in the translation. However, I noticed a typo in the german lyrics during the first refrain: It's "Räuber..." not "Raüber" ;) (but don't worry, it's a very common typo).

The song is really great and the quality of the sound is good, too even though your flash is relativly small. The animations are very fluent and visualize the song in a very good way.

But I can imagine that the language barrier can hurt this movie in the long run. Even though you gave a very good translation of the lyrics, I don't think it's the same as listening to the song and understanding the lyrics without reading them.

Kenzu responds:

I thought I have removed that typo already. A friend mentioned it to me before. Maybe because it is mentioned twice throughout the movie.

One of the reasons I learn many languages is to understand all the beautiful music with original lyrics. People who have to read the subtitles miss out on the strength of impressionism of this movie.

If you like flash with East German music, I recommend you the following flash:

Nice one. By far the best episode in the series. Very nice in length and humor.
Also, the task given to both is very important, so I'm glad they succeeded ^^.

I liked the scene changes and the music changes as well. Glad to hear that great fanfare near the end of the flash ^^.

Never heard of Wintersun before, either. I think I have to check them out ^^.

I liked how you used the sprites here. The animations are quite smooth and the plot is decent, too.

The Avril Lavigne-joke was quite funny, but I can think of worse artists to listen to (those horrible american "punk bands" like 'Good Charlotte' for example ^^).

Disney songs are the worst.

NuMetal isn't Metal! That's right!

Not much going on in this episode but the "killing" of gau was quite funny and made up for the "non-action" during the movie.

Oh, the Chocobo running across the screen was great ;).

Again a nice use of sprites and a good voice acting. I think the Edgad N' Locke-series is going to become my favorite series from you ;) .

While the two riffs sounded indeed very similar I don't think that it was a simple rip off. Maybe they even asked Machine Head if they could use the riff -.- .

I highly doubt that. :P

This is a great one.
The graphics are very good and I just love how much details you put in the backgrounds and in the characters.

The music was well selected, too and it fit well in the flash.

The file size is very big, but you made up for the long wait while it was loading with this masterpiece of a flash!

Good work!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad to see there's an appreciation for the little things :D.

Somehow I was expecting more from this and I was quite disappointed when it ended so apruptly. Then it made a loud *CLICK* inside my head and I finally got the joke :D .

The drawings are very nice and clean and the animations look smooth. I like how you managed to animate the hand so well. I think drawing and animating hands is one of the hardest things to do.

The voice acting was good, too. Only downside here is that the sound sometimes cracked a bit in my speakers, but I think nearly every voice actor has problems with that (unless they have a really good mic, that is).

I think this has the potential to start a series of short funny flash movies. So get back to work and submit some more flashes of this quality! :P

I got a few good chuckles out of this one. The comments from that guy on the right (sorry, I don't know the name, never played any Sonic games ;) ) are very funny.

I like the idea of the conversation going on, but I had some trouble reading the text as it went by pretty fast. Voice acting sure would have been nice here, but as I learned for the flash, you don't own a mic (and I think you once said in a response to one of my reviews that you don't have one ^^), too bad... broke n**** :P .

I really missed some more action in here, like the characters moving around or at least moving their mouthes and heads from time to time. It would have been much more interesting this way ;) .
