Good game

I like the setting of the game. Nice to pick up where "Pico's School" left off (well, kinda). Also a nice idea to inculde the fire extinguisher in the game, heh.

The graphics are pretty good. I mean, everything is pixeld but it looks pretty well.

The music is awesome and fits very well to the pixelated graphics. 8 bit for the win! :)

Glad that you fixed the medals now. This is one of two pico day submissions so far that really deserve to have medals!

Nice game

Well, the graphics are pretty good here. The movements of Stamper look pretty good, and the bees are also drawn very well.

Maybe the screen is a bit too big, but that's just because it's harder to keep the whole screen in view. ^^
I guess I just have to sit farther away from the monitor to play this.

A real drawback is, that sometimes the icons (healt, fags, etc.) are so far down the screen that it is impossible to reach them; they fly by below ground level.

Good, but not too good.

I like the style. Eveything is held in red and black but you made good use of the colours here. So while in reality all characters are only black shades they look pretty detailed and the different enemies are all very easily to distinguish.

The voice acting was ok. Could have been a bit better, but on the other had the voice actors are not "professional" voice actors. So it should be obvious that their work can't be compared to the work of professionals who do voice acting for a living.

The actual gameplay was pretty simple. But that doesn't mean that it was bad. ;)
Controls are good and I appreciate that you put "jump" on two different buttons. I have a "qwertz"-keyboard so jumping on "x" and attacking on "z" is pretty annoying. With your "second" layout I could just use the "up" button to jump.

I think the game needs a few more attacks and/or combos. It was also a bit annoying that the character moved forward while doing a regular attack. This resulted in me just attacking past the enemies, because they also moved forward when attacking. Also I found that the character sometimes wouldn't turn around, even though I pressed "right" when she was going left while attacking. But maybe this is no flaw in the game at all and just my inability to control the character the right way. ;)

Definatly a game flaw is the fact that the character sometimes falls just through a plattform, even though I landed on the edge.

The ending was also a bit dissapointing. I won the battle against the king, but yet the cutscene hints that the king won against me?

Good concept, but...

This is a very good concept. I like the introduction to the chapters with the short comic strips and the coloring of the menues add a lot to the atmosphere, too.

However, the animations are pretty stiffy and there are many glitches in the game.
When I restart a chapter because I previously died, the character falls through the floor. I have to press all the buttons to get him out there.

Also, I managed to beat the last boss (that dragon) and now he's just kneeling there, bleeding endlessly. I still can change weapons, but nothing else happens!

Overall, it's a very good idea, but presentated pretty poorly.

Nice game

I like those kind of games. They help me to improve my typing skills. It is pretty well executed, too. No lags at all and the background graphics are nice to look at, too.

However, I got stuck on the second level. The game did not recognize me typing the colon (:). I don't know if this is an error in the game itself or if it has to do that I use the german keyboard layout. The latter seems unlikely, though because the game DID recognize me typing 'y' and 'z' when I pressed the letters on the keyboard (those two are switched in the german and the english layout).

deadlygeek responds:

thanks for the feedback. as for the colon bug - that's not something I thought to test for. I'm going to have to do some research about that. Have you had any problem like that with other Flash Typing games?

cheers.
Craig.

Nice actionscripting here

The script you used is quite interesting and it seems to work very well. Now you just need a more interesting game to use the script. :P

It was interesting to experience all the various screens (first one did NOT lag for me, btw) but it gets very repititve quite fast.

The "Curse Rag" was an interesting choice for the background music and it fits the flash quite well in my opinion.

The main downside is the ugly coloring. You should try to work on that for your future submissions.

Yeah, will make something better with the script :D! And lol, the colouring was awesome and you know it! TY for the review :P

The last one... for now

Very nice episode. The last scenes where just amazing and the battle against the demons where I had to press the letters on the keyboard worked really well.

I sure hope you someday find the time to continue this series. It was fun watching/playing it so far!

Thanks :)

Good

The riddles in this episode are very easy compared to some of the riddles in previous episodes, but I enjoyed playing this game nevertheless.

The story is quite interesting (even though it's a bit strange that Tabitha forgets the combination of the locker ^^) and the cliff hanger at the end of the episode is done very nice.
Good thing that I don't have to wait until the next episode comes out! :)

Thanks a bunch.

Nice, but...

A nice little game, but to be honest I didn't even finish the platform part. Why? Because it's annoying that I have to restart from the very beginning once I got hit. And I just don't want to play games that annoy me (I'm not the AVGN. XD).
Sometimes I didn't even know what hit me, because I was taken back to the very beginning of the level. It would be much better if I just lost some health, but could continue from where I was when I got hit.

Apart from that, the graphics look very nice and the music was quite fitting, too. Too bad that there aren't any sounds in the platform part, like some clanking sound when the robots walk, or some jumping sound, etc. .

Thanks for the review, too bad you didnt finish it! i will take note of when you you die! for next time ill keep your advice in thought and try to do the best i can.
the sounds would have been cool i know but i dont exaclty have time for that kind of thing! but next submission will be a lot more prepared! =)

Good platformer

This is a good platform/jump 'n' run game. It's quite a nice change from the other episodes.

The graphics are very nice and the level layout is very interesting. It's good that I have to go back serveral screens to be able to reach the blue crystals sometimes. This increases the difficulty level of the game a bit. Otherwise it would be too easy I guess.

However, the end bosses are a bit too hard because if they hit me/run through me I am not able to hit them. It's a bit annoying to run after the boss of level 1 and if I get a bit too close to him I got hit and lose energy.

Also, the lip syncing wasn't done that good this time. The voice already finished the text and the speech bubble didn't even show the rest of the text. This should've been looked over before submitting this to the portal.

Yeah the voices are always hard.
