Too short

I think this should be longer. The joke was all right, but the flash only lasts for a few seconds. It's hardly worth the wait.

The graphics are all right and the little animations you had where ok, too. Now you just need to lengthen the flash a bit. Maybe show how Zelda and Link are happy together and then after a few scenes of them, show how Link is sad and Zelda goes down on Mario.

lol well admittedly I kinda rushed this animation, but I may go back and make it better eventually.

Poor turtle...

The joke reminds me a bit of Ice Age where that one mammoth thinks it's an opossum.

The walking sequence did look a bit strange. More like the turtle was floating instead of walking. A bit more work on that aspect is necessary, I think.
But other than that the graphics and animations looked nice.

Overall it's a pretty short flash with a good punchline.

OK, thanks for taking the time to review :)

Again pretty good

After watching this I'm even more confused... but it's a good thing because now I have to watch future episodes as well. This confusion keeps me interested. ;)

I noticed that you now used arrows instead of dots to indicate which character is speaking. Now the speech bubbles LOOK like speech bubbles. Much less confusing than in the first episode where at first I thought the characters where just thinking.

But I noticed some annoying spelling errors like the infamous "there"/"they're" and "your"/"you're" errors. Those can be really easily avoided and will make the flash a lot better if they are avoided. ;)
So, every time you want to write "your" speak out lout the sentence with the words "you are". If it doesn't make sense, then "your" is right. Otherwise you want to type "you're". ;)

The action is again very nice in this flash. I hope you can keep this up.

Good start

This is a good start for a series. I've seen other series that bother with a long as intro and explanations, but your flash dives straight into the action, which is a nice change from all those long intros. ;)

I liked the sound effects you used. Of course you had the typical "mario is jumping" sounds, but you also had some other sounds like the water splashing or when the toads where running. This made the flash much more interesting to watch.
However, sometimes there seemed to be some static sounds, shortly before the Toad entered Mario's castle.

The speech bubbles looked more like thought bubbles because of those dots that point to the head of the character speaking. Maybe an arrow pointing would be better here. But overall the bubbles worked quite well. I had enough time to read the text plus the text was easy enough to read. So you've done a good job here.

Now I'm wondering how this story will continue... better watch the second episode right now! :)

Yes i did away with the text bubbles. With both the sounds and music i want to keep it as 8-bit as i can, thanks for this good review frien

Nice work

This is a really good flash. The narration was nice and the storyline was pretty funny.

Sometimes the music was a tad bit too loud so it was hard to understand the narrator, though. Subtitles may help here, maybe with an option to turn them on and off, so that people who don't like subtitles can easily get rid of them.

The drawings looked pretty good and the animations were decent. My favorite one was when Zimmi whiped off the sweat from his forehead.

However, that "filter" in front of the whole movie was a bit annoying. It fits at the beginning when they wander through the forest, but later in the cave it just seems misplaced.
So maybe only add the filter in some scenes (woods) and get rid of it or change it to some other filter in other scenes (caves).

Rutger responds:

Hmhmhm, yeah, I think I'll remove the filter in some places in the next animation. Thank you!

Statics are annoying

Very fast paced but funny nevertheless. I like the ideas you came up with in the animations, especially the "job" one was nice.

The drawings are a bit sloppy but they fit with the fast pace of the movie. It's like "the movie is fast so I don't have much time to draw things!".

I liked how the flash ended after 4 reasons with that nice punchline. The character is dead, so he can't continue anymore.

However, the sound quality was a bit too low. Sometimes there are noticeable static sound, which are really annoying. Try turning down the recording level of the mic a bit next time.

Thanks, the audio was recorded a long time ago, :D

I love choclate!

Pretty random flash at times but with some really funny scenes (I especially liked the "choclate"-scene because I actually understood what was written on the wall. :D ).

The music was good and you managed to keep the flash synced with it, so that music and flash went together pretty nicely.

The only things I didn't like was the pictures of the dogs moving around (this looked really really bad) and the abrupt ending. Maybe a little fade out of the music would look and sound better here.

Cute :)

This is a very cute flash (I just like moles, heh), the graphics and the animations look very good and the lyrics are funny.

The bad thing about this flash is that it's hard to read the lyrics and watch what is going on on the screen at the same time. So someone who reads or sing along to the music would be a good thing to have.

blackcat2000 responds:

It all started when I drew some things about shrubs, clubs, cub, and the such in my rough book... a couple months later I did something similar with moles, souls, etc. Then decided it'd make a good animation =D
And the voice actor is something everyone sees as lacking in the animation... no worries, I'll get one if/when I do another submission akin to this one =D
Thanks for the review! (and yeah... it was difficult to get the mole so he looked... meagerly cute ._.)

Nice theme

A pretty nice theme for a collab. Superheros failing at what they are doing are my favorite animations in here. :)

Some of the animations have been pretty short and fast paced. It would be better if those where strechted out a bit. Gives the authors more time to "show off" their skills and gives the viewer more time to realize what's going on in the scene.

That little part in between different scenes was a nice idea. I loved the batman series as a kid (even though I found it ridiculous even back then ^^).

Overall the collab is pretty well done with animations that are all of nearly the same (good) quality. Nothing that sticks out as particularly better or worse than the rest of the animations.

Okay for a tribute

I guess it's okay for a tribute I think. Seeing as this was submitted one day after Billy Mays death you had to come up with this pretty quickly.

You put some nice pictures in here and the music was nice, too. But the problem with tributes is that they are all pretty low in quality. They are sure a tribute and meant for the best, but I think it would be better to if flash artists would spent a bit more time to come up with something better than just a slideshow.
