Has potential

I can tell a lot of hard work has went into this project already and this hard work really shows in the game. The controls are very good, very responsive and I found no flaws here while I was playing.
The hit detection seems to work pretty good as well (wheter it be objects I'm running into or if I'm trying to shoot my opponents).

Also while the graphics look pretty basic right now (everything has geometrical forms) it is very easy to navigate on the map and it's very easy to orientate myself. I also can distinguish very easily between the objects shown on the map.

The only thing that annoys me is that the blue guys can shoot at me from just outside the screen, so they can start shooting before I can even see them. Sure, the arrows help me to locate my enemies, but I think my shots have a range only to the border of the game window. At least I was shooting like crazy in the direction of the enemy, but he still could shoot at me and I could only kill him when he was on screen.

Wow, another guy from the review request club :)

Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback.

I can easily fix the enemies shooting at you from offscreen, by adding in a delay before they can open fire.
If you have any other suggestions be sure to PM me :)

Nice game

This is actually a very nice game even though the game mechanics are so simple (just point and click, heh). But what you created here with this simple concept is really amazing. We get to see some nice paintings and we have to solve some riddles (some very tricky, some very easy). The riddles literally "force" us to look harder at the picture. One quick glance really wouldn't help, but we have to scan the whole picture. That way we can see things the artists included which otherwise would simply have been overlooked.

The area where our clicks on the solution count are very well defined. I never "misclicked" even though I tried clicking on the object in question. This shows that you put some effort into programming the game, not wanting players to get frustrated just because they where one pixel off the solution area.

The music is well chosen and sets the right mood for the pictures. I like that you put various songs in this game, changing every few paintings. That way we don't have to hear the same song over and over again, which could get very annoying after a short while.

Overall this is a pretty simple, yet very good game. The medals add some replay value and are a nice touch. But even without the medals this game is worth playing.
Since the scoreboard seems to be broken anyway (it told me to sign up to Newgrounds even though I am logged in) it would be nice if you could get rid of it. :)

Needs a story

The game itself is all right. Nothing too special about it, but it's not bad. What keeps me from playing this game for a longer time is the lack of a story line. There seems to be no real goal except for fighting and collection monsters. Not very motivating over a long time, at least not for me.

The graphics are decent, even though I wish you'd put some more animations in the attacks. I mean, it's nice that you drew different animations for the fireball and the shurikens, etc. but for example the normal attack doesn't look any different from the karate kick.

Also, the monsters only sit there motionless. I know it's propably a lot of work to do animations for them and it's only a minor detail. But I think it would be worth to put in this extra effort.

Also the main map is a bit confusing. It would be nice if the different places I can go to had different names. This would help to place my clicks right. A few times I wanted to go back to town but ended up in a forest instead.

Short, simple and very enjoyable

Very short, yet a very nice game. The graphics reminded me a bit of Mystic Quest (released under the name "Final Fantasy Adventure" in the US and "Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden" in Japan) for the GameBoy.

The controls are nice and simple, I couldn't find any bugs or glitches here.

The music is chosen nicely, but it gets pretty repetitive after a while. Well, you gave the option to mute the sound, so I could always turn the music off and listen to my own.

The added medals are a nice touch, but the game is worth to play it even without the medals.

Has potential

Well, this game seems to have a lot of potential. I haven't played it for too long, but potential already shows after a few minutes, right? ;)

The controls aren't too respondive. Sometimes I pressed the jump button, but the character wouldn't jump and would fall down a hole so I had to restart the game. This is quite annoying, as there are some holes where there's no way out except for restarting the game. If the character would get killed and would set back a few yards from where he came it would be much less annoying.

The music fits pretty good to the "cave" theme, but I think it might get too repetitive after a while. A few more songs would be pretty cool to have.

Hmmm

Nothing too interesting in this game. The idea of playing "solo pong" and not letting the ball getting out of bounds is interesting for the first few minuts, but after some time it becomes really boring.

You should also try to make some graphical changes. First of all the score is hardly visible, as it is black text on a dark background, which I woulnd't call "clearly visible".
Then the ball looked kind of odd as well. Maybe a simple white ball would work better here.

One bug that I discovered is that the ball bounces off the score, so you might want to fix that.

It's a start

Seems to me as if this game is still in an early beta stage. Right now there isn't much of a game here. I can move around and shoot asteroids, but why should I? There doesn't seem to be any score counter (there where some numbers on the screen, but they kept changing constantly, mabye a bug?) nor does there seem to be any more levels than the first "stage".

Also, I could move my ship outside of the game screen. There seemed to be no border as it took quite some time to get back into the screen if I pressed the button for one direction for some time.

So yeah, add boundaries to the game, add a working score counter and maybe some more levels and you have at least a decent game here.

Good game

A very simple game, but with well thought out levels and a pretty good gameplay. The controls are nice and simple and work surprisingly well. I didn't play this game for too long, but I did encounter any bugs with the controls. They are also very responsive, which is always a good thing.

The music is quite nice, but gets annoying after a while. Good thing you added a mute button, that is easily accessible from the menu.

Only thing I didn't like was the filter you added to the game screen. It gets really annoyiong after some time because it flickers the whole time.

Hmmm

Hm, I'm not sure if this game is to be taken seriously or not. I think I don't want to take it seriously but see it more like a parody of some medal games on newgrounds.

Yes, I can see that this game was inspired by OCD+ (which I thought was a pretty good game, as it infuriated some of the "medal whores" on NG, which was funny to look at) but I don't think this game here offers the same quality as OCD+.

However, I still like the presentation of this game. The music you chose for the game selection screen is very relaxing and fits quite well there. I also like the idea of hiding codes throughout the games which I later need to reach "the core" (whatever that may be).
But I don't have an OCD or at least none that would drive me into completing this game, so... I won't complete it. ^^

Still a nice gadget

Nice to see an updated version of the NG Portal Radio. It's still a nice gadget and I can see some improvements here and there. But there's still a lot of stuff that could be added (but I guess most of the "really cool" stuff would be impossible to add).
I made some suggestions on the previous versions, so I won't make any new suggestions here (I'm just pointing out that Fro expressed some very good ideas in his review).

However, what I didn't like was the font, for example on the authors bios. It just seems to be a bit "blurred" or too bold. Whatever it is, it's pretty hard to read, so it would be great if the font could be changed to something that is better to read. ^^

Thaks for like my gadget and for the font added suggestion! Yeah to be seriously, I prefer to change the font!

Thanks for review! =)
