A pretty catchy tune with a very joyful atmosphere. I don't know if it fits for Little Big Planet, but it definitely would fit in a game that doesn't take itself too seriously. And I don't mean this as a bad thing. Think of games like Kirby or some cool fighting game like Marvel vs. Capcom.

I also like the 8-bit-like melodies in the background. They really add a nice touch to the song.

Thank you for detailed review! But you told about good aspects only, and nothing about something bad in that tune, but vote 4, I want to know my mistakes =)

This is a really strange song. But luckily "strange" doesn't mean "bad" at all. This song is strange, but it does have certain appeal. The melodies sound pretty good, for example. Also, the drums toward the end of the song are very bassy, which also does sound good.

What makes this song so strange is the rhythm. It seems to be really out of place, but somehow everything DOES fit in the end. And this is what makes this song so unique.

Thanks for the review, and yes it is strange. The rhythm is weird, I understand, but I was just trying things out. "unique" is my style, I guess :P

Thanks

This song is very nice. I like that it is so quiet and calm. It keeps itself very nicely in the background. So it could be used as a background music in emotional scenes, like the departure of two friends, or similar scenes.

I especially like the combination of the deeper background melody and the main melody with the higher notes... those kind of songs are the reason why I like the piano so much. :)

Thank you for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it! =)

Typical "american punk" like Blink 182. Not really the kind of punk I like, but this song is indeed pretty good.

I like the voice here, it sounds nice. Especially towards the end of the song, where the singer starts "screaming" a bit and the song becomes a bit heavier.

Overall, this is a good song. Some simple guitar riffs, that get stuck in your head, a good singing voice and a good recording quality. Not much to complain about, except for personal tastes. But "personal taste" shouldn't be reflected in the review score too much. ^^

Very appreciated! I know this kind of music isn't really for everyone. The last bit of the song is my favorite part too. Hopefully we can steer ourselves away from being immediately grouped into the "Blink-182 punk" style in the future!

The song is a bit short, but it creates a very nice "fairytale like" atmosphere nevertheless. I like the strings here a lot. They remind me a bit of the music from "Braid" (a game available on XBL or PSN), which had pretty awesome music.

The only advice I can give you here is to make this song a bit longer. ;)

Thanks for the review, Haggard. The piece is just a quick menu piece that goes over the motif used in the game.

Very nice song. I have never played Monster Hunter Tri, so I don't know if you captured the mood of that game/the songs from that game or not. But I do know that this piece is a very VERY good song.

I really like the instruments you used here. They all sound very nice and not artificial at all (like in some songs, some instruments just sound like they come out of a computer). I also like the different parts of the song. They sound very distinguishable from each other, and yet they sound like they belong together. Very nice.

Overall: Perfect song, I have nothing to complain about. :D

Hey Haggard, thanks a lot for the review!

"Very nice song. I have never played Monster Hunter Tri, so I don't know if you captured the mood of that game/the songs from that game or not. But I do know that this piece is a very VERY good song."

Haha thanks! I think it did capture the mood and according to my friend who I play Monster Hunter with, it sounds a lot like Monster Hunter, although I don't try and aim for capturing the mood of the original in all my remixes. Sometimes it's a good idea to try something totally new and see how it comes out. The best remixes IMO are the ones that sound good even if they're in a totally different style/genre from the original.

"I really like the instruments you used here. They all sound very nice and not artificial at all (like in some songs, some instruments just sound like they come out of a computer)."

That's great, I'm glad you noticed! Probably got to thank my expensive instrument software for that :P.

"I also like the different parts of the song. They sound very distinguishable from each other, and yet they sound like they belong together. Very nice."

Awesome, that's great to know!

I think that's a first for one of my songs :3. Thanks a million, I appreciate the feedback!

The main melody is very present in this song. We can hear it almost throughout the song and it tends to get a little bit annoying after about the first half of the song.

However, later, when you add more instruments to the song, the main melody suddendly becomes the element, that ties everything together. Every other element of the song seems to listen to the main melody. A very interesting effect.

The trumpet (or saxophone) towards the end of the song was a little bit "too much", though. I think it's too annoying. Maybe you can replace that with something different?

Morph94 responds:

Thanks for the review, friend. I see what you mean about the main being a bit too present. As for the trumpet instrument, I think it's fine where it is, but I can fiddle around with it and see if I can make something that might sound better.

Very nice song. It's a bit different from what I expected at first, but it's always nice if you can surprise your listeners.

The song starts off really quiet and slow. A dream like atmosphere is created in the first few seconds. But there's also some creepy feeling in the first 30 seconds. However, at around the one minute mark, the creepy feeling vanishes, now the song sounds much more peaceful. The weirdest thing is: I don't even know why I think the song as a creepy undertone at first...

Anyway, the song progresses and it becomes more and more happy with every second. At around 3:11 the song also becomes more energetic, until it reaches a climax at 3:50. If I would just listen to the first 30 seconds and then to this part, I would never guess that it's the same song. So it's really amazing how you managed this change in atmosphere by slowly progressing the song.

Really nice work!

Thanks! It's so great to see this song getting such great feedback! My sole intent was to make this song as unique, awe inspiring and enjoyable as my musical talents would allow. I can safely say, I believe I succeeded! XD I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks again for reviewing and I hope to see more great reviews from you!

This is a very good song. I don't know the original version of this, but I like the piano a lot. And I think you play it very well.

I like how the song starts off really slow and quiet, and then slowly becomes more powerful later on.

There's not much else I could say here, I just can't find anything that you could do better here. ;)

Thanks so much Haggard, your words mean a lot, thanks for taking the time to listen and review!

I like the beginning of the song very much. The fast pace here sounds amazing.

The slower parts are good too, but not as amazing as the intro. Also I think that instrument that sets in at around 0:45 doesn't fit too well to the song. It just sounds a bit out of place.

Overall, the song is decent. Nothing too breathtaking, but still enjoyable.

Solisio responds:

Thanks, I actually added the intro at the very end. It was a very constant speed for the whole song before that. I agree, I should have changed the melody instrument. Hell, I still can :p. I appreciate your review, it seems very genuine. Thank you for the review.
