Very nice song. I have never played Monster Hunter Tri, so I don't know if you captured the mood of that game/the songs from that game or not. But I do know that this piece is a very VERY good song.

I really like the instruments you used here. They all sound very nice and not artificial at all (like in some songs, some instruments just sound like they come out of a computer). I also like the different parts of the song. They sound very distinguishable from each other, and yet they sound like they belong together. Very nice.

Overall: Perfect song, I have nothing to complain about. :D

Hey Haggard, thanks a lot for the review!

Haha thanks! I think it did capture the mood and according to my friend who I play Monster Hunter with, it sounds a lot like Monster Hunter, although I don't try and aim for capturing the mood of the original in all my remixes. Sometimes it's a good idea to try something totally new and see how it comes out. The best remixes IMO are the ones that sound good even if they're in a totally different style/genre from the original.

That's great, I'm glad you noticed! Probably got to thank my expensive instrument software for that :P.

Awesome, that's great to know!

I think that's a first for one of my songs :3. Thanks a million, I appreciate the feedback!

The main melody is very present in this song. We can hear it almost throughout the song and it tends to get a little bit annoying after about the first half of the song.

However, later, when you add more instruments to the song, the main melody suddendly becomes the element, that ties everything together. Every other element of the song seems to listen to the main melody. A very interesting effect.

The trumpet (or saxophone) towards the end of the song was a little bit "too much", though. I think it's too annoying. Maybe you can replace that with something different?

Morph94 responds:

Thanks for the review, friend. I see what you mean about the main being a bit too present. As for the trumpet instrument, I think it's fine where it is, but I can fiddle around with it and see if I can make something that might sound better.

You have a very good voice. I really can imagine to hear this voice in flash movies or other projects. However, it would be very good if you could provide authors with some different sets of emotions (as it already was suggested in a review). For this, it would be really helpful if you could record the same sentence(s) in different emotions. For example "Hey, how are you?" could be read with the emotions "happy" or "distant" (like, you don't really care how the other person is, but you ask it anyway). This would show that you are able to create certain atmospheres/emotions just with your voice.

Also, there seems to be a small hickup during the words "until one day they die". There is a slight pause between "day" and "they die". I don't know if this was done on purpose, but it sounds a little bit strange.

I'm sure you already know this, but I just tell you anyway ; ) : It's always a good idea to split texts in parts. Especially longer texts. Maybe you could read only one paragraph, listen to it and record it again if you are not satisfied with the result. At the end, you can simply add all the recorded paragraphs together. This way, you can easily avoid mistakes and you don't have to record the whole text again.

Ok, maybe this advise isn't of too much help here, since the text isn't very long. But it's still a good idea to record a paragraph more than once. You could then chose the best one and present it.

Very nice song. It's a bit different from what I expected at first, but it's always nice if you can surprise your listeners.

The song starts off really quiet and slow. A dream like atmosphere is created in the first few seconds. But there's also some creepy feeling in the first 30 seconds. However, at around the one minute mark, the creepy feeling vanishes, now the song sounds much more peaceful. The weirdest thing is: I don't even know why I think the song as a creepy undertone at first...

Anyway, the song progresses and it becomes more and more happy with every second. At around 3:11 the song also becomes more energetic, until it reaches a climax at 3:50. If I would just listen to the first 30 seconds and then to this part, I would never guess that it's the same song. So it's really amazing how you managed this change in atmosphere by slowly progressing the song.

Really nice work!

Thanks! It's so great to see this song getting such great feedback! My sole intent was to make this song as unique, awe inspiring and enjoyable as my musical talents would allow. I can safely say, I believe I succeeded! XD I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks again for reviewing and I hope to see more great reviews from you!

The beginning sounds very confusing. The chords don't seem to fit together that well (but on the other hand, I don't know anything about musical theory, so maybe I'm just missing the bigger picture here). But the melody sounds very nice, so I kept listening.

Later on the song becomes a lot better, the chords are sounding better and the melody continues to be very nice. Too bad this piece is so short, though.

PS: A score of 0.97 / 5.00? This is FAR too low for this one. So I guess there where some nasty 0 bombers at work here. It's a shame. I just voted 5 to cancel out some of the negative votes. Seems I raised the score to 3.13. :)

I really like the sound of the bass line here. It has a very deep sound and it creates a very nice atmosphere. I'm sure this would sound amazing in a club.

However, I think the song could use some more variation. The bass line stays the same for allmost the entire song, and this can get really annoying. Especially since there isn't that much else to listen to. Some melodies here and there, but they aren't enough to prevent this song from becoming repetitive.

Hm, I'm not sure what I should think about this. I like the main riff here, it sounds pretty funky. But what I'm missing here is some good drum work and much more bass. Right now this sounds as if it was recorded in a tin can. No bass present here at all.

However, I liked the ending here. We can hear some muffled sounds and it seems as if someone is leaving the room and the door closes. This is a nice gimmick, in my opinion.

This is a very good song. I like the backing track a lot. It has a nice beat and the distorted guitars fit in very well here. Also, the backing track fits very well to the lyrics. They are (sort of) angry, and so is the background music.

The lyrics are very honest and describe an important part of your life, and that's what I really like about this song.

This is a very good song. I don't know the original version of this, but I like the piano a lot. And I think you play it very well.

I like how the song starts off really slow and quiet, and then slowly becomes more powerful later on.

There's not much else I could say here, I just can't find anything that you could do better here. ;)

Thanks so much Haggard, your words mean a lot, thanks for taking the time to listen and review!

Some of the things in this song sound very much like I've heard them somewhere else before. Especially that "gong" sound we can hear every now and then (for example at 1:21). I mean, the song still sounds decent, but I'm missing some originality here.

The bass line on the other hand sounds pretty awesome. This alone makes the song worth listening to. :)
